That is great news to hear that this young man can play. Nobody wants to see a kid get injured and not be able to play even more so his senior year. I know of other kids who have played with an ACL tear. The brace will secure the knee and make it unlikely to do any further damage. I hope that he is able to play and has no more inury.

I see that there is a lot of posters projecting a big win for their team whether it be Ironmen fans on this site or Eagles fans on the Yappi site. I agree with one of your posters that say it is hard to know what to expect without ever seeing the other team play or even know much about the teams that they do play. I think what we can expect is two teams that are going to leave it all on the field come Saturday night.

We will do everything we can to accomodate all the Iron fans with seating. We will bring in extra stands and will probalbly offer to bus people in from the high school. I will find out and let you all know soon. One thing that people really enjoy about our field is that you are right on the field and close to the action. When you cheer or yell out to encourage a player, you can bet that they are able to hear you. We have a grill going and serve pretty good food. We start the grill early so if you would like you can have a decent meal right there. The parking can be a bit of an issue with parking on the streets, it is possible that you could have to walk a little more than a 1/4 of mile.

I don't think the Eaton fans are cocky. We have just seen this team transform during the season and they continue to surprise us every week. Every time we think the next game will be tough, they seam to find a way to run away with it. I don't think that Jackson will be able to "run it down our thoughts"... I think it will be a good game. I think Jackson will get their yards on offense. I also think that Eaton will score a lot. Our defense has been strong all year... Eaton will be facing 2 good running backs this Saturday. We will just have to see how it unfolds. Eaton has a good run defense. We only allowed 1 back all year to reach 100 yds and he had 102 and had 52 on 1 run. It is hard to tell how good each team is and how they will match up since there are no common opponents. I just hope both teams play hard and there are no injuries. May the best team win.

"run it down our thoughts". That's a good one. I'd like to see this one but will have to tune in on the airwaves. Go Ironmen! Run it down their thoughts! Seriously though, I expect a great game between these two fine teams.

I like Eaton in this game because they are built to be very flexible based on what the defense gives them and they have an outstanding defense. The defensive line is big, strong and fast. The linebackers fly to the ball and we have d-backs that hit hard and cover tight. I think our defense matches up well with the Ironmen's offense.
Offensively we can go five wide with a no huddle or go heavy and wear down the defensive line. Our team is in outstanding condition and get better as the game goes on.
If needed we can play wide open. If we can get a comfortable lead on the Ironmen how comfortable are they going to be to have to open it up? Our line comes harder as the game wears on and put good pressure on the QB, the D-backs know how to take advantage.

To be honest there are a few Eaton posters on Yappi that go a little over the top. Hopefully Jackson fans don't judge all of the Eaton faithful by these few. As we all know every school has those certain fans that can make everyone look bad. As for the Eaton players, if you would talk to any of them you would never know they were 10-0. They are not one bit cocky. They are confident of what they can do if they play well but it's a quiet confidence. If you knew these kids and they weren't playing against Jackson you would easily find yourself rooting for them.

Again we just have some fans that say some stupid things. You should find out Saturday night that a vast majority of the Eaton faithful are nice and not the least bit cocky.

Good luck

I can't even begin to express how happy I am that Kip Winchester will be playing on Saturday. He's a senior captain, a leader on this football team, a great athlete, and a great kid. I felt awful for him when he went down to a knee injury in Week 9, but now he gets another chance to help his team extend their season. I don't know what type of role Kip will play on Saturday, but whether he plays QB, DB, or both, he'll certainly make a positive impact. Go get 'em, Kip!

Just did a little reading on Yappi, and it does appear that several of the Eaton fans are pretty confident, but they should be. They have a good football team. I honestly don't think that either team is going to run away with this game, but you can't blame either group of fans for being confident in their team's ability. As good as both teams are, I would be willing to bet that each coaching staff has found their weaknesses, or at least an area that they would like to exploit. I'm sure there will be a lot of talking all week, but I'm looking forward to seeing the action on Saturday. Both teams are talented, and they'll both be well-prepared. As usual, it will come down to winning the turnover battle and execution.

It sounds like Eaton's stadium is similar to the old Jackson Stadium. The Ironmen played their home games there from 1932-2003, with seating only on the home side of the field after the expansion of the old high school (now the renovated middle school). Alumni Stadium (2004-Present) is one of the best facilities in all of southern Ohio, but I really doubt that the Ironmen will be too shocked by Eaton's facilities. It'll just add to what should already be an electric atmosphere. It's a long trip, but I fully expect Jackson to bring a ton of fans. That place is gonna be packed, and I highly doubt there will even be much standing room by game time.

Just got my morning laugh from yappi and the village idiots that post on there. Yes, some of them are even from Eaton. What a site for everyone to say what's on their mind. Most of it Jr. High trivial non-sense. You will find a couple in every crowd. Good luck to both teams this weekend and to all that are coming our way, drive safely.

Can't wait! It sounds like the Eaton crowd in general are being very hospitable and are trying to accomodate what will probably be the largest crowd they've seen.(at least that's what it sounds like their saying). Great to have Kip back. He said the doctors said that the damage is done and that he could not furthur injure his knee. That's not to say that he could aggravate it so we'll have to take care of him. He'll be very valuable on D.
Sounds like we'll have to put the pressure on Eatons Q. Offensively we'll need to control the clock and put points on the board when the opportunity presents itself.
Gonna be a great game and a great atmosphere. I'll say good luck Eagles but you know that I'm really just saying hope there's not any injuries but hope the Ironmen advance. :122246
Either way it should be a great game and neither team needs to hang their heads after the game. TWO GREAT TEAMS=TWO GREAT SEASONS!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

Its a long way from crutches one friday to being an effective player the next friday. I am pulling for a big win for the Ironmen this week. I would love to see Jackson make a deep run and Winchester be an integral part of it.

IronmenTradition wrote:Does Eaton have any really fast kids that are good in the open field or kick returners? If so that could hurt Jackson. Seems like they have struggled with that most this season.

And all of this information really doesn't matter once the game starts. Whoever shows up ready to play and plays hard will win. Both teams seem very even. Its just hard to judge never seeing them play or the teams on their schedule.
I dont know what your talking about. Seeing how they stopped wilson with only letting him get a little over 70rushing yards and also lets not forget the chilicothe & ironton both known for their running game
