D6 R23 #7 Southern @ #2 Bridgeport
Re: D6 R23 #7 Southern @ #2 Bridgeport
Any Bridgeport fans able to shed any light on how good this team really is? I've heard big things about the 3 Smelley brothers and a little back named Price.

I am not from Bridgeport but have seen them play and they are one of the best d-6 schools I have seen play.

BRIDGEPORT is very good this year . At the start of the year the line was the question mark but as the season has gone on the line has become very good. The back field is CHRIS(RB),CURT(FB),and,COLE(QB) SMELLEY all very good runners , and then you PRICE(WR)-(RB)-(KR)-(PR) he is also a very good runner.DALTO(TE) is also good but never gets 2 show it atleast on O.

Since it's at Bridgeport I'd say Bulldogs win big. Smelley brothers too much, plus Price should score twice on special teams alone. Bulldogs by 27.
Re: D6 R23 #7 Southern @ #2 Bridgeport
6 years ago I would put money on it that the Smelleys' would be attending Bellaire, and Bellaire would be making a big run at the D4 title. But with the Big Reds in such disarray the past 4 years they stayed home (I assume they live in Bport), and the Bulldogs have a chance of a lifetime. Although I still think Newark Catholic is the giant elephant in the Region 23 room that nobody is talking about.
But in round 1 anyway:
"Ooooo Ooooo that Smell (ey). Can't you Smell that Smell (ey)." :122245 (ok that was probably bad)
Port by 30.

BRIDGEPORT won 31-20 ,but garrett price went down in the first quarter might not be playing next week against NC. I think he broke 2 bones in his hand.

If the game was that close I think NC will roll next week... Southern must be much improved to make the playoffs, but from what I remember of them they always were ready for basketball season by week 5

It was 31-7 at the start of the 4th and BRIDGEPORT got alittle lazy thinking it was over and southern threw a 55 yard td pass then recovered an on side kick and scored again. After that BRIDGEPORT woke back up and drove down inside the 10 but got stopped on 4th down , but didnt allow another yard on D.

Good luck I still not sure what kind of team NC will be in the playoffs... Fairfield Christian might have been suspect

If NC is able to win against Bridgeport it would be a upset IMHO. Congrats on your win.
