Re: Regional Final D4 R15: #1 Ironton vs. #3 Hartley at Loga
I'm not going to the game, so I could care less where it is. It is, however, totally unfair to Ironton.
What if your Nelsonville-York Buckeyes were the #1 seed and had to play Wheelersburg in Proctorville? Then they had them dress in the girl's lockerroom with the same entrance as Wheelersburg was using? You wouldn't complain? You are kidding yourself!
I want Oak Hill and Ironton to win because they are from the southeast and this site selection is a disadvantage to Ironton!

From the front door of the two schools to the field, it's almost exactly twice the distance and pretty much 3 times the drive time for Ironton.
Guess having the higher seed, and a same season win over the lower team means squat.
Oh well, I bet Ironton travels 5 times the numbers if fans to the game!

Like I said our boys would dress on the bus and play in a parking lot. These young people are still playing. They have a chance to win the region. Ny fans don't care where the Buckeyes play, we just wanna see them play!pottiemouth wrote:I'm not going to the game, so I could care less where it is. It is, however, totally unfair to Ironton.

Fido, you know the ol Sarge can sniff out them watering holes.......would you believe there is a watering hole directly across from the school......in the club house of the local golf course......and rumor has it happy hour is from 4 to 8 and a nice frosty draft goes for the price of 75 pennies......FIDO wrote:As a fan of the game, as longs as there is a local watering hole to quench a pre-game thirst, they could play on the moon and I would still support local teams!!Orange and Brown wrote:Quit B*tching about where your playing. At least your still playing. I know that the OHSAA is out to stick it Ironton. They wake up every day wondering how they can make you guys miserable but gee whiz, If it's not the drive, it's the seating, if it' not the seating it's the bathrooms, if it's not the beathrooms it's something else.
How abouty we hold all playoff games in Ohio in Ironton
Our boys would dress on a bus and play in a parking lot if they could play in a reginal final.
That is a pretty accurate post about a lot of local teams, not just Ironton.

Would have been nice if they kissed us before they screwed us!
Re: Regional Final D4 R15: #1 Ironton vs. #3 Hartley at Loga
It looks like Oak Hill got a longer commute too! I don't know, somethimes I think we here in the southeast part of the state have made our own beds with all of our moaning and groaning about playoff sites. I don't know about anybody else, but I've come to expect this kind of treatment.
I will admit, however, that I know absolutely nothing about what goes into the process of selecting a playoff site. Maybe there are agendas, vendettas or even favors being exchanged. Maybe not. Beats me!
I say, "To hell with them! Lets travel wherever we have to and beat them at their own game!"
Go Tigers!

These distances can't be right. Logan is AT LEAST a half hour past Athens. Just drove it two days ago.Frogtownbuckeye wrote:From Mapquest:
Ironton to Logan 84 miles
Columbus to Logan 49 miles
Ironton to Athens 81 miles

Ironton to Jackson 43 miles

There has got to be a better place to play this game. Ironton is the #1 seed and if either team should get the benefit of playing closer to home it should be the Fighting Tigers. How about let's do this in Jackson or Athens?!
Re: Regional Final D4 R15: #1 Ironton vs. #3 Hartley at Loga
IMO the score will be closer than the first meeting between theses two teams but it will be the same outcome Ironton moves on to the final four

It's 84 miles if you take 93 clear to LoganTigerTownKid wrote:These distances can't be right. Logan is AT LEAST a half hour past Athens. Just drove it two days ago.Frogtownbuckeye wrote:From Mapquest:

It's over 100 miles if you take 93 to 32 to 33.

:aaaaa18 :aaaaa18 :aaaaa18 :aaaaa18 Tee it up and play the game!!! At least you're still playing! And you really couldn't ask for a nicer facility.
Re: Regional Final D4 R15: #1 Ironton vs. #3 Hartley at Loga
yes I am happy we are still playing but it is just wrong that the roads you have to take to get there isn't what you would call friendly at night driving from the deer.
But once again it is only Ironton.
