well if i struck a nerve im sorry but i couldnt think of any other way to put it about ratliff and its my opinion. i can not see that kid throwing for a 1k plus last year.. no way. when that star running back ( which was very good) got hurt it would have helped West if they had a passing game which they didnt. if the passes they tried in the playoffs is your idea of a passing game then you guys have been living under a rock. you wanna see a balanced team, take a look at the MAC teams in the north western part of the state. if west and thats an if can make it passed the regionals in D5, they will not get past one of those mac teams from D5. in order to beat them you have to have a balanced O and great D. plain and simple.

Div. 4 state champ stats: Bishop Hartley, 5-6 passing for 79 yrds........299 yrds rushing
Div. 5 state champ stats: Young. Ursuline, 6-9 passing for 119 yrds......492 yrds rushing
Div. 6 state champ stats: Del. St. John, 7-10 passing for 136 yrds.......416 yrds rushing
So much for being balanced is the only way to win.

Levi did throw for around a thousand yards last season in a run dominated offense and if the coaches wanted to throw the ball more he could easily throw for two or three thousand this season with his ability and the talent he has around him and for your opinion it means nothing and one more thing go to ohio varsity.com under pro stye qb and you will see he is 17th on the list.sadie74 wrote:well if i struck a nerve im sorry but i couldnt think of any other way to put it about ratliff and its my opinion. i can not see that kid throwing for a 1k plus last year.. no way. when that star running back ( which was very good) got hurt it would have helped West if they had a passing game which they didnt. if the passes they tried in the playoffs is your idea of a passing game then you guys have been living under a rock. you wanna see a balanced team, take a look at the MAC teams in the north western part of the state. if west and thats an if can make it passed the regionals in D5, they will not get past one of those mac teams from D5. in order to beat them you have to have a balanced O and great D. plain and simple.

Agree with the previous post. We need to pass a third of the time to advance past the first round of the playoffs.

This was the quote......First of all, a north west team did not win the state championship. So, whatever they are doing is not working either. Secondly, no one specified a private or public school. It is still Div. 5 regardless.sadie74 wrote:well if i struck a nerve im sorry but i couldnt think of any other way to put it about ratliff and its my opinion. i can not see that kid throwing for a 1k plus last year.. no way. when that star running back ( which was very good) got hurt it would have helped West if they had a passing game which they didnt. if the passes they tried in the playoffs is your idea of a passing game then you guys have been living under a rock. you wanna see a balanced team, take a look at the MAC teams in the north western part of the state. if west and thats an if can make it passed the regionals in D5, they will not get past one of those mac teams from D5. in order to beat them you have to have a balanced O and great D. plain and simple.

We'll have to wait till the scrimmages to see, but Kyle Auger will probably be our horse. He'll be one of the leading rushers in the area this year.portsmouth_trojan59 wrote:Who will be running the ball this year for West losing Pendleton is big but i think they will still put together a good season best of luck and see ya week 2 !
Re: Portsmouth West Football 2011
stats dont lie to a point. those champs didnt have to pass to win. that just tells you what kind of D was out there. also West isnt gonna have that stud running back there this year. They wont have a choice but to be more balanced. what happens when you run into a team that shuts down your run.....its called being SCREWED!!! i watched the D4 D5 and D6 teams in person and i can tell you they are balanced. the coaches just seen they didnt have to pass cause the run couldnt be stopped. so stats can lie in this game guys. time to come back to the modern times when 3 yards and a cloud of dust doesnt work every playjuke boxer wrote:Where did Sadie74 go? So Sadie, if you ARE good enough, you don't have to be balanced. Correct ?

Auger will probably be the featured back but we have a stable of very capable kids to step up with Summers,Crace,Zaph and several others if not mistaking we had like 14 or 15 kids had positive rusing yards last season we lost 4 to graduation so I think we will be fine rushing the ball best of luck to the trojans see ya in week 2 at the very wonderfull trojan colliseum.portsmouth_trojan59 wrote:Who will be running the ball this year for West losing Pendleton is big but i think they will still put together a good season best of luck and see ya week 2 !
Re: Portsmouth West Football 2011
Last I heard Zaph wasn't playing. I was told he had a good shot of starting at corner and getting some caries on offense. Someone needs to get him out there.
