If the starter is not getting the job done, you go in a different direction. Period. The backup, that "had no part in winning the last 4 games," saved River's playoff chances in the Caldwell game, accounting for 42 points with the same offense that for almost a month couldn't score. The playoff run only lasted a week if you remember,as the "starter" was put back in and had 5 turnovers in a loss to Zanesville Rosecrans, a game they should've won. If River wants to, A. Make the payoffs, and B. Make any kind of playoff run, they simply can't give the ball away. The turnovers and inconsistant play have been happening for almost 3 seasons now. How long is his leash? River's rushing game would benefit from a passing threat. Every team they played last year loaded the box to stop the run. There was no fear whatsoever of a passing game. Just being handed a position because of who you are, who your relatives are, or where you're from, is wrong. Open and fair competion for any starting position would be good for all parties concerned. That doesn't always happen. Just saying.
