When you start saying stuff like this, it sounds like you are either bitter or have an axe to grind. One of the two. Likely the latter.[/quote]

...And there it is.The same could said of your dismissive comments earlier. Let's stay on point. What's wrong with competition?

Both of these boys have something to bring to the table for this team. They are both seniors so why not use them both. Im not saying switch them every other play, but have different packages for each. They can both hand off and run the ball, but anyone who has watched these two for any amount of time knows one is clearly a better passer than the other. Use what youve got!!

It looks like you two have a difference of opinion on something that someone else will be responsiblle for. No coach will play someone simply to play them.A head coach will try to win games with the best people they have. No one wants to lose. Give the coaches a chance to do their jobs. They see the players in practice,in work outs and in games.Sometimes fans think they have all the answers with only part of the facts. The coaches will make decisions based on what they observe over a season not one game or practice. I am confident that this situation is not a problem and will not be a problem. Please do not try to make "something " out of nothing. This could be a good ,fun season for River Football. They do not need trouble inside their team, let the opposition be the other team not the team mate.

Laffrie and Chandler Lang are leagues best QBs anyway.River has the best team though.

I hope your right about Lafferre, but I think it's a little early to be saying he's one of the leagues best QB's

Has Laffrie even played QB at the varsity level yet? Kinchen's started for what, the past two years? I'm not so sure you can call him one of the league's best QB's based on potential alone. Don't forget about Hurst over at Shenandoah. Might have a say or two in this debate.

River has won this tourny several times in the past, this years team should be very competitive. Might not be true football but at least it resembles it!!!!

I will be the first to admit that QB1 had a much better tourny than QB2. River made it all the way to the semis before being upended by Morgantown. All in all a great start to the season. Much better hands for most of the River recievers this year. If Brown can stay healthy he will be one of the top wide outs in the PVC this year.

I heard River performed pretty well. From what I understand QB2 took a while to get going, but by the end was looking sharp. QB1 apparently got over 90% of the snaps and looked good at first, but tailed off towards the end. Also heard Cross is really starting develop at WR. Not alot of speed, but sure hands.

I would say it was more like 70/30. The ratio would have been closer if Lucas wouldnt have gotten off to such a slow start. He just couldnt get a handle on the football all morning. Once he settled in in the afternoon session he got alot more snaps & looked better. I think he was just having an off day, and was having trouble gripping the ball. Actually wore a glove on his throwing hand most of the day. Brown, Cross, Asturi, Stewart, and Richter all had good days catching the ball. Those 5 didnt drop many catchable passes. River finished in the top four out of twenty teams so Id say it was a pretty good effort.

According to a quote from one of the players in the newspaper, Fort Frye's players have been lifting weights "all summer." Be afraid. Be very afraid.

The 70/30, 90/10 equation, takes me back to an earlier observation about equal chances. Lucas earned, at very least, an EQUAL opportunity to start by his performance last year. I would guess that the kid would like to get an equal chance. If he had an off day, apparently, everybody noticed. That should tell you something. Also, kind of curious why they haven't tried Caldwell at TE or receiver.

Don't most schools have an off season lifting program?

Actually, you gave me the idea. Of course that would be contingent on Lucas earning the starting QB spot. Sorry if I offended you by the suggestion!

Remember that this was a tournament, not a scrimmage. River went with the QB who had the best chance to help them win THAT DAY! Nobody wanted to drive clear to Washington PA to lose. Plenty more chances for Lucas to prove himself coming up in passing scrimmages.

Anybody have any scrimmage schedules? I think Fort Frye has Federal Hocking in the fondation game.
