Re: 2012 SEOAL Previews - Gallia Academy Blue Devils
we will struggle mightily against power running teams! i think 6 wins is possible not more than that prob 5-5
neither meigs or parkersburg were good or well coached teams,i think athens will be a test up there.

that big strong d-line is not very fast from what i saw against meigs, when they rolled the qb or ran off tackle the db's have to get involved and there were receivers open all night that that very below average qb from meigs did not see them or just made bad decisions.
when ga blitzed they got pressure on the qb when they did not meigs had success. we will be competitive in almost every game, just saying were not a playoff team in div3 imho! not close!
meigs is not very good they might win 4 games

Hate to agree with Mr. Negativity, but I don't see GA as a playoff team either. I just don't see this team as having the talent to be as good as the last two years' teams and they were both left on the outside looking in. This week is critical if they want to have any shot at all. If they lose this week and get down on themselves, it could be a sub .500 year. Here's hoping they prove me wrong!!
Good luck to the Devils up at Athens Friday night!

not negative! i think it's funny how everyone predicts 7 or 8 wins and that is great,i'm not trying to make anyone look bad or put the devils down. i watch high school football closely it's a bit of a down turn in our county right now at 2 schools and as i see gallia academy's numbers decline i think we will struggle to field a good team in div 3,the athletes are just not there. the best scenario would be if we fall into div 4,then i think we would be a good team.GAHS83 wrote:Bevo wrote: just saying were not a playoff team in div3 imho! not close!

in our county right now the way the numbers are rising at river valley with the coaching staff they have and loads of talent plus they have new facilities and that area on 850 rt 160 is growing fast! i could see them possibly being a playoff team the next 3 or 4 years in div 4, but they have to keep getting better they have to play defense. south gallia's glory days are over for quite awhile it finally caught up with them a couple of their kids went to rv ,good players!
we have the schedule and imho good athletes this year just not as good as athens, jackson, ironton, licking heights and warren local. please be objective not critical when someone states their opinion, last year i predicted 6 wins, everyone else on here said 8 wins and beat jackson go to the playoffs. when you don't have a feature player that is a game breaker or difference maker teams stay close in games,we do not have the depth at the skilled athlete like some other teams do,we need the 8-12 point lead late to hang on in games, (athens last year our kids were worn out could not tackle sharp who was the best athlete on the field, same in the ironton gamewe played great until we had to tackle a great athlete) this year we have 5' 9" 160lb linebackers, our dline is good inside the tackle box but if they have to run out and make a play they can't!
if meigs qb doesn't throw a pick 6 and if he completes 40% of his passes they tie us! not impressed with bartrum or the team at meigs either!
sorry to spew but how i feel, it's all based on facts! not negativity! i have not bashed one single person or kid just stating opinions!
GO DEVILS,GO RAIDERS,GO REBELS!

Don't quite know what you're getting at..........BBallin fool wrote:love the way you all hide behind a key board!!! :122247 but thats what GA sports is about , not like back in the day :122247
I don't say anything here that I don't say to people at the games. I'm not too embarassed to hide behind my forum name, but I wouldn't be foolish enough to post it online either. I've met a few of the folks on this board at the games and talked to them about the team.
Also, I'm not an expert, I'm just a fan expressing my opinion. I thought that's what this forum was for. If you're looking for blind enthusiasm and all fans saying we're going to go 10-0 every year, you've come to the wrong place. I HOPE they go 10-0 every year, but I'm a bit more realistic than that.

say what you want about south gallia they have 15 freshmen, that will grow up one day. there future is bright coach peck will have them turning heads before its all said and done. the tvc is not that difficult of conference to play in:mrgreen:Bevo wrote:not negative! i think it's funny how everyone predicts 7 or 8 wins and that is great,i'm not trying to make anyone look bad or put the devils down. i watch high school football closely it's a bit of a down turn in our county right now at 2 schools and as i see gallia academy's numbers decline i think we will struggle to field a good team in div 3,the athletes are just not there. the best scenario would be if we fall into div 4,then i think we would be a good team.GAHS83 wrote:Bevo wrote: just saying were not a playoff team in div3 imho! not close!
