60-14

Athens offense is real! May very well crush every scoring record in SE Ohio History, as the league foes will have ZERO answers.

One of the most impressive offensive performances I have seen at the high school level. If the Athens defense plays well the rest of the season, it's gonna be hard for anyone to compete against an offense like that. Joey Burrow was simply amazing tonight. Last I saw he had thrown for 413 yards and 7 TDs, and added over 80 yards and a TD on the ground.

Athens 66
Warren 14 Final

Joey Burrow threw for 423 yds. and 7 TD's and rushed for 97 yds. and another TD in just 3 qtrs.! The reshuffled defense looked much better, in position all night, hard hitting, good tackling for the first time all season. A few more penalties than I wold have liked but all in all a terrific performance by the Bulldogs tonight!

Athens is a scoring machine this year. They sure seem very impressive. Congrats!

That's what the Bulldogs "cut and ran" from???

Now now boys, no reason to gloat at a guy that was clearly just trying to stir the pot. Athens was clearly the better team tonight but the Warriors have some talented players and played hard to the end even though the game was out of their reach early. Warren will do well and should be competitive with most of the rest of their schedule and I for one wish them, their fans, and coaches nothing but luck from here on out.

Too bad you couldn't have warned the pot stirrer on several of his posts in various threads, but then again, sometimes it's best not to waste your time on the clueless.

Yea Yea,,you are 1-1 against Old SEOAL foes ,if you stayed there . Lets see You would lose to jackson,Chillcothe, and Logan . You probably beat Portsmouth for a record of 2-4 . Just saying as it is you will go 9-1 or 8-2 and be home for the playoffs. But you might win the TVCOhio though

We will see about one of those Swampmouse...

We play @ Jackson next week...
We would beat Chillicothe and Logan...

And your absolutely right...if we go (9-1) we could very well be Home for the Play-Offs...Hosting a Play-Off Game...
Warren will bring us points, Watkins will bring us points...If you say we go (9-1), that means we beat Jackson (who will bring us points) along with Nelsonville who will probably win 6 or 7 games this season...

When will people realize that the SEOAL is no longer the League it was...
When I played in the SEOAL, the Leagues Football was in it's prime...
Donnie Johnson, Simmon's, Jared Humhpreys, David Swisher, Conrad's, Amigo's, Bonecutter's, teams had some very tough competition from each League team...

Now, Jackson is the team. Galia is headed back in the right direction (loved what I saw from them in Week One, still wish we would have won.) Logan has dropped since the loss of Coach Dale Amyx (might I add one of the greatest coaches I ever played against.) Warren is up and down (but I'm glad at the numbers I saw tonight on their sideline.) Marietta is gone, Point Pleasant gone, River Valley gone, ATHENS is not the only team that left...

ALL these former teams have left the league and found success elsewhere...
Athens, Ironton, Meigs, Nelsonville-York, Point Pleasant, Waverly, River Valley, Wellston, Zanesville...

Leagues are not just about Football!

Add up the records in all sports the past 4 years against SEOAL, Athens has more than held their own. Hell you want to talk about leagues, your profile says "Oak Hill", there is not a small league in Ohio as bad as the SOC I, and look at the Oaks in that conference.

On the 14th of this month we will see how Athens stands against the SEOAL. Everyone is saying Jackson is the top team in the league.
Athens has seemed to have found their defense and with saying that if they had to play Gallipolis over this time they would hold their lead.
Jackson just might be 2 and 2 come the 15th of this month.
If Athens and Gallipolis make the play-offs do they have a chance to play each other?

This Athens team is still very young, they will make some mistakes throughout this season and while they looked about as good as they ever could have against Warren last night I'm not sure what to think about them going into a hostile environment like they will face next week in Jackson. Gallia deserved to win that game week one, their coaching staff made great adjustments at the half and we didn't do enough to change it up and paid the price.

Going to Jackson is going to be tough, but they do play tonight and will have one less day to get ready or heal any injuries that may happen tonight.
