Yep! I've had a chance to see him play against Ironton and half of the Portsmouth game, and he's an impressive player. He's also got a pair of very good receivers in Dylan Miller who is a 6'4" athlete that can go up and make plays on the ball with excellent hands, as well as Tyler Claxon who is only about 5'8", but seems to be sure handed and seems to come up with a lot of big catches on 3rd down plays.

You're very welcome 8)

Per the radio, The Ironmen had 270 total yards with 168 of those coming in the second half. They also got 10 of their 14 1st downs in the second half after the subs had been inserted by the Pirates.

excellent game by the pirates. complete domination. jackson just could not seem to match up to burgs quickness. miller was very accurate all night and made great decisions. just too much pirates. the penalty that was called on the interior lineman for burg was basically just both players waltzing with each other away from the play and the jackson players helmet got torn off prob from a hand to the face and they called the foul. i saw the tail end of it and it looked like a good call but it was a non factor. without a doubt the best i have seen the pirates play all year. jackson had no answers. they got whipped up front on both sides of the ball. when i left it was under 5 min to go and jackson had just scored to make it 40-13 but there were flags on the play and it looked like it was coming back. burg was playing mostly sophs. but jackson looked to sill have quite a few of their starters in the game.

Very impressive win tonight by the Pirates. Heard someone say that Jackson was just to big for the Burg. If I had the option between size or speed I would take the speed and that is exactly what won out tonight. Burg was just way to fast for Jackson on both sides of the ball. THe defensive ends for the Burg were by both of those big tackles all night long.

Eddie Miller to Dylan Miller has turned into a nice combo. Tyler Claxon has also turned into a nice receiver. Noticed Wade Martin standing on the sideline with his arm in a sling. Anyone know what happend to him? Hopefully it is not serious. Kid is going to be one of the best athletes to come out of Burg before he graduates. Can't imagine the passing game had he been in at the WR slot also.

Burg has NW next week as they start SOC play. Should be an easy game but one of those games you hope everyone comes out injury free.

Great job Burg and keep on rolling.

Plain and simple, Wheelersburg dominated the Ironmen in every facet of the game. I was very impressed with the Burg, especially Miller. He's a great runner, very accurate as a passer, and just has great instincts. Good luck to Wheelersburg the rest of the way. Hopefully the Ironmen will provide a little better competition next season in Jackson.

Jackson didn't play well at all. They couldn't move the ball consistently and they simply never stopped Wheelersburg's first team offense. Despite the injuries, I thought Jackson would come out and be very competitive in this game, but it just didn't happen. At 2-3, I would think that there is zero chance at a playoff berth, so now the focus turns to the SEOAL. Jackson hasn't lost an SEOAL game since 2009. They have a title to defend.

Hopefully some of the guys can get healthy, but it looks like there will be nagging injuries the rest of the season. This team needs to decide now whether they want to play hard and try to win a third straight outright SEOAL title or throw in the towel. I certainly hope they choose to give everything they have for the next five weeks. Jackson football is about 572 wins and 22 SEOAL championships. It's about representing the city of Jackson. Play the next five weeks for yourselves, your teammates, the guys that put on the Red & White before you, and those that will wear it in the future. Play Ironmen football.

Do you think they got out coached by 40 points?

The coach can only coach. he can't play the game or make players want it. I see no passion in this Jackson team.

To me its pretty embarrassing for Jackson a division 3 school to get beat by the Pirates a division 5 school. As good as Larry Hall is at defense he couldn't stop the pirate offense very surprising. The Wheelersburg coaching staff need to commended they out coached the Hall's on both sides of the ball! Great win.....

Seriously!!!!! Outcoached!!!!!

I don't think Larry was the one in coverage letting the Burg receivers get behind them all night. I don't think Larry was the one not making tackles at the LOS that turned into TD runs.

Like I said above, the speed and overall quickness of the Burg was to much for Jackson to overcome. I think even if Jackson would have been at full strength the outcome would have been the same. 2-3 players would not have made a 40 point difference.

Also, Jackson has no reason to hang their heads because they were beat by a DIV V school. It happens all the time. I'm glad to see these two teams playing in the regular season again. There has been some classic matchups between these two teams over the years.

listen they got out coached. larry hall always has had trouble game planning coverage for passing teams. he just runs cover 1 and cover 0 and stays in a 50 defense. Wheelersburg is a 50/50 run pass and very tough to defend. jackson had 2 1/2 players out wheelersburg had 1 out. i say 2 1/2 because for some reason there Qb played a little running back. wheelersburg had,at times, only 3 seniors on the field so the burg had a lot of youngsters on the field. best of luck to jackson to health and winning.

You see, I don't think that you can be out coached for 40 points. As a coach you can only prepare you players for situations while in practice; you can only put your players in the best situation on each play in a game! The execution and effort is totally up to the players. When you get waxed by 40 points it is not entirely a coaching staffs fault. As a coach and a parent for that matter... you have to teach these players that they have to share in the responsibility of the loss or they will grow-up thinking they can blame everyone else for their failures in whatever they do in a life situation.

Now, does that mean that coaches can coach a perfect game. Absolutely not! Every loss and win's responsibility is shared by both coach and player. If players were faking obvious injuries to just get out of games or just letting down because they felt they had no chance at all... then the players may be more at fault than the coaches! If the coaches were making really bone-headed calls... then the coaches may be more at fault but, in the case of the Hall's I don't see this being the case. Their records and work ethics prove otherwise.

I don't think Jackson should be embarassed at all. After all, they have a bunch of injuries and Wheelersburg is a good football team. While nobody wants to lose, if you give a solid effort and lose, there is no reason to be embarassed.

Yes we should be embarassed by last night 1or 2 injuries don't make 40 points. Jackson has played 3 good teams and lost by 7 and 14 points then all of a sudden by 40 in the game the coachs really wanted and needed. 7-3,9-2,11-1 not bad years so Andy
and larry have done pretty good job in jackson. They deserve some of the blame but the players need to take some also tackling and hitting are the basics of Jackson football these boy have seen this since 2nd grade. So lets all take some blame we give
them all best equipment, uniforms, stadium all we ask is play hard last night the team didn't do that so know we need to tell them they need to step up and earn what they are getting our plays have hard time staying on college teams when asked to put
in the time and earn a spot maybe it's time to tell them earn it Hitting, tackling, playing hard every second your on the field is not to much to ask for what you are given. Last night and week before I saw a freshman beat everybody down the field on kickoffs
and make tackles also saw freshman play line, and linebacker noway freshman should see field on d3 school with 80 kids on team I think Hall is sending message I WILL PLAY THE GUYS WHO GOES HARD AND EARNS A CHANCE NO MATTER THE GRADE SO TELL
YOUR BOYS GO OUT AND EARN IT OR YOU WILL BE WATCHING START WITH WHAT JIM HUMPHREYS WOULD SAY HIY,HIT,HIT YOU CAN'T GO WRONG IF YOU START THERE

I am just saying the beat down that Jackson took from the pirates was unexpected and the coaching did play a huge roll in the outcome. The Hall's are good coaches, but they were out coached in this one. I was surprised that Larry didn't have an answer for the Pirate offense. You can talk injury's all day but in reality with the number of kids Jackson can choose from being division 3 compared to division five it should be noted that coaching made a big difference. If it wasn't coaching then maybe it comes down to HEART, pride and tradition???????????Looking forward to next years game............the pirates will only be better next year!
