Yep....watched them play Portsmouth. Blocking and tackling seemed to be real issues and that was against a very poor fundamental Portsmouth squad.siderman wrote:Have any of you even saw West play?
Minford isnt a group of world beaters, but they will make you pay tremendously if you cant block or tackle well.

Re: Portsmouth West (2-3) @ Minford (5-0)
Joe Eitel has nothing to do with tonight's game and who wins or loses! lmao. If West comes to play and never lets down, I believe they will surprise a few people. West pre season was in preparation for this. If you take into account everything up to now, West has had to endure some adversity. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I doubt they care where they play or if it is homecoming or not, they will win if they want to bad enough. Best of Luck West!

Easy bud. Never posted it to cause a stir. it is just playoff probabilites. And West still has a chance. It may be a slim chance but it is a chance. That is why i posted it. West still has alot to play for. And for your information I will be rooting for West in this game. I think it will be closer than the experts think.playa_44 wrote:Joe Eitel has nothing to do with tonight's game and who wins or loses! lmao. Jesco we are also glad to see Jesse back on the field. Jesse is a great player and senior leader. I have spoken with him a few times and he is also a outstanding youngman.Jesco White wrote:I'm glad to see that my cousin's "baby", Jessie Scott is going to be back on the field. That's a HUGE impact on that West line, not just from a size standpoint, but from a senior leadership standpoint as well. I still stick with my prediction that this is going to be a close game! I'm hoping I get a chance to make it to this game myself!
Looking forward to tonight should be a good one.

Someone from West got drilled, after Minford's fist TD. I heard that hit on the radio!

What is the deal here? You three are like some 8th graders going at it..at least argue about reasons why or why not your teams are good.

The Falcons are now 6-0 , congratulations :122245 .Thankful for a good defensive effort tonite & a good kicking game. This is the second week in a row Minford won on score , but not statistically, hoping to see that change.Congrats Falcons !!!!!!!!

I didn't feel like Minford was to "up" to play this game... appeared to be going through the motions, just my honest perspective.Stu Pedasso wrote:The Falcons are now 6-0 , congratulations :122245 .Thankful for a good defensive effort tonite & a good kicking game. Not much offense by either team but lots of sacks. The Minford QB will not run the ball and threw several uncatchable passes. The West QB sneaked through the line a few times just to keep the defense loose plus had a decent passing game. Week 8 will be UGLY at the Burg with Miller and Co.

Oh yes absolutely, because everyone knows you can base a team's performance vs one team and determine a matchup vs. another.bluedude62 wrote:Not much offense by either team but lots of sacks. Let's do week 7 first, week 8 is just another game against another team that is on our path to a "possible" SOC championship, at 6-0 the target on our back just got biggerNewEra wrote:Oh yes absolutely, because everyone knows you can base a team's performance vs one team and determine a matchup vs. another.bluedude62 wrote:Not much offense by either team but lots of sacks. A win is a win but I dont think our offense looked close at all to its potential. Offense can be much better than they were tonight as they have proven this year. Its getting close.....Stapleton threw some very nice passes after he settled in and #14 had a few great catches.
6-0 and now get ready for Northwest.

Ugly win. But you got to take a win in the SOC II any way you can get it. I think it's pretty obvious the execution tonight will not get it done against Wheelersburg, Waverly, or Valley. Good news is Minford has another week to get better. There will be no shortage of correctable mistakes on film to get the team focused I'm sure of that.

Great points IronFalcon, and I am sure this young football team will be reminded that as well. Sometimes you are feeling good about yourself a little too much, homecoming night, etc, etc..

Re: Portsmouth West (2-3) @ Minford (5-0)
Yes, it was an UGLY win, although I loved the progress of our passing game. IMHO, if it wasn't for terrible officiating, our defense would have posted a shutout. Thank goodness we play Northwest next week, b/c we also had a couple of critical injuries tonight (that many chopblocks is simply unacceptable). Hopefully our RT will be healthy in time for 'Burg. But we still got Northwest to play next week. One game at a time fellas!!!
