They are currently working on the problem(replacing transformer)now and hoping to have things up and running. If the scoreboard got a direct hit, there is no chance that item will be repaired by gametime. This will make the second time since the begining of the season that this has happened !!!!! :122246 As far as reschd of game ....that has not be determinded yet!!!!Alitown wrote:Is the game still on for tonight? Allow me to add some Western Brown info to the conversation :12224 8)SPAMONY wrote:Thanks Coop I knew you or Jesco would do the research I am too lazy to do myself! LOLchicken_coop wrote:I dont know about Western Brown, but being D2 I cant imagine them in the SOC 2......Athens would be a stretch bounicng from D2-D3 and Athens is just coming back off some struggling years where they wouldnt have competed in the SOC2
02 - 6-4 **D2 in 01 (L to D4 Portsmouth who lost to SOC2 Portsmouth West)
03 - 7-3 (No L's to any D5 team. Burg went 9-3, Minford 7-4, Valley 8-2, but was still in SOC 1)
04 - 1-9 (L's to SOC 2 Waverly, and D5 NY)
05 - 3-7 (L's to SOC 2 Waverly and D5 NY)
06 - 1-9 (L to D5 NY)
07 - 1-9 (L to D5 NY)
08 - 4-6 (L to D5 NY, and D4 Wellston)
09 - 9-1 **D2 in 09** (L to D5 NY)
10 - 5-5 **D2 in 10** (L to D5 Coal Grove, NY)
11 - 10-0 (W vs D5 NY in OT, Valley went 12-1, and so this woulda been a great game)
I wouldnt go as far as saying Athens would just strut in and win the SOC 2...I dont know if they would have won any from 02-current.

What the above does NOT show is that until Western Brown's Week 8 match-up in 2010 with Amelia, they hadn't played a regular season game against a school as large as them in quite some time (I got bored after researching them through the 2006 season). Every year, their schedule is chalked full of D-3, D-4, D-5 and even a D-6 school on occassion. As for success, it should be noted that Western Brown did qualify for the playoffs in 2008 with a stellar 10-0 mark in the regular season (vs a schedule of 10 teams ALL smaller than them including 3 D-4's and 2 D-5's), however they lost by 30+ in the first round of the playoffs as they qualified as a #7 seed.
In 2009, Western Brown finished closed out their season with a 15-50 spanking at home at the hands of the Portsmouth Trojans (7-3) who missed the playoffs in D-4 Region 15 barely by finishing 9th. That same season, Portsmouth faced a pair of SOC 2 foes with a 21-20 home win over Portsmouth West (6-4; 2-3 finished 4th in the SOC 2) and a 14-68 home LOSS to Wheelersburg (9-3; 4-1 finished 2nd in the SOC 2)! Pay attention folks, in '09 Western Brown had a team slightly below .500 whereas they are typically slightly better than .500. In that same season, they were 5 touchdowns worse than a team that finished 6 touchdowns worse than the 2nd place team in the SOC 2! Oh yeah, by the way, Western Brown is a whopping 4-16 vs teams with winning records since 2006! Not only would they not win the SOC 2 (next to never), but they wouldn't even finish in the top half in most years!
