I think RV will keep things rolling. That was a solid Win last week. Two in row would be something to really build on. RV by Three Scores!

I look for Palladino, Townson, Browning and company to have a big day as the Pointers roll the Raiders. SP still has some gapping holes they need to fix but they have shown a couple signs of life in OVC play. Need to wrap and tackle better imo to have any chance of improving into the future. Don't know much about RV but a massive loss at home to RH last week is very unimpressive, so I take the Pointers in this one.

RV may drop this one, but they are doing the right thing by moving on to young guys. Good for Coach Sparling.

The Pointers looked great last night in the JV game against Peake! Won 40-14. The future is looking bright if we can keep the boys playing! Go Pointers beat the Raiders! I hear we are having a JV game against River Valley next week as well. We only have about 25 boys total so we haven't had a JV game every week due to injuries.

How many years in a row has RV gotten to the end of the season and played underclassmen??? Seems that they do this every year....You would think eventually that those underclassmen grow into upperclassmen and things would turn around at RV...but it hasnt happened yet!!! I dont understand why RV isnt any better now (the current group of SRS have played a lot since they were Sophs!!!! RV is one of the most impressive teams to watch warming up in SEO!!! Big...athletic looking kids and can never seem to get things together!!!

You do make great points, but honestly this group of freshmen are a special group if they stick together. I believe the problem is most of these kids just don't eat sleep and breathe football during the season and the summer. They are not all about it. Wearing that jersey in the hall while your girlfriend wears the other one does not make you a football player. Besides, their is a difference between an athlete and a ball player. Some kids are both. River Valley needs more ball players.Ol' Blue wrote:How many years in a row has RV gotten to the end of the season and played underclassmen??? South Point is the same way. We started with 8 seniors and are down to 4. Add in 4 juniors, 8 sophomores and 9 freshmen. Of the 17 sophomores and freshmen about 10 or so are starting every Friday night!Ol' Blue wrote:How many years in a row has RV gotten to the end of the season and played underclassmen??? Rv starting Qb is still out, they did get their best lineman back but lost Bradley for this week.
The injuries continue. As usual depends on the defense they get stops they are in this game they don't it will be ugly!
I agree Blizz let the youngsters play !
Good luck Raiders

Yea really scoring hasn't been a problem when they can get the ball for the offense, defense has been the big problem and has been getting progressively better the last few games.
they scored
27 against Chesapeake,
Meigs 18
14 against CG
Southern 13
Adena, Nelsonville 12 each
The Rock Hill game they had 10 injuries at least. scored 6
The changes they made in personnel and young guys stepping up. Hope next week they play as well should be a good game with Fairland
Good Job Raiders ,nice Gesture giving #51 Ducky Taylor's mom the game ball and nice presentation to her Coach Sparling! (we know Ducky was watching)
