Nelsonville-York (7-2, 4-0) vs Athens (8-1, 4-0)
Re: Start it now.......Buckeyes & Bulldogs
Having seen both teams play, I think this will be a very close game. Athens obviously has the advantage passing and NY imo has the defensive advantage. I know alot of people think this may be a shootout, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a 21-20 thriller. One thing is for sure..this game is huge!

The only problem with your evaluation Dundas is: you saw Athens when they were stuck in 1st gear - you havn't seen em when they put it into overdrive yet ... lol ... I have no idea why they decided to run it 40 times versus Vinton County - they havn't done that all season except versus the Vikings.
But I know what your saying, I"ve seen both teams play in person and I have watched all their games on channel 15 ... its gonna be a good one, both teams have loads and loads of talent and speed.

The title of this thread should be: Week 10: Athens (8-1, 4-0) @ Nelsonville-York (7-2, 4-0)

I fixed the title for ya man.
18-3 over the last 21 years ... that's the stat that sticks out NY96.

Athens has the offense and Nelsonville/York has the defense. Just might come down to what team makes the less mistakes.

Re: Nelsonville-York (7-2, 4-0) vs Athens (8-1, 4-0)
NY has played one bad half of defense all year. It was the second half against Newark Catholic. The only thing is they have not seen speed like Athens all year. I think the Bulldogs offensive speed will be the difference and beat NY 34-20.
Re: Nelsonville-York (7-2, 4-0) vs Athens (8-1, 4-0)
IF NY can get a couple stops and get the run game going..the dogs will be in big trouble.
Re: Nelsonville-York (7-2, 4-0) vs Athens (8-1, 4-0)
Let's hope it is a well officiated game and the officials allow the teams to determine the outcome. I think Athens has far to many weapons for the Nelsonville team. Would be a huge money maker if game was on a Saturday.

This will be a high scoring game for both teams. NY will gash Athens with there run game and the Dogs will find siccess through the air. This game will come down to penalties and turnovers. Whoever has the fewest will win the game.
NY-36
DOGS-34
NY takes back the title and puts some more paint on the wall!!!
GO BUCKS GO!!

Nelsonville hasn't beat anyone with a winning record. Athens beat 1 team with a winning record. With that said, it looks like Nelsonville must win to make playoffs, if they lose it looks like coal grove will finish #8 in the region. I predict an Athens victory by 7 points and coal grove slips into the playoffs.

Take a look at the possible points on Joe Eitel. It will take quite a bit for CG to get in. First Frederictown must lose to Loudenville, which is no guarantee. NY still may have enough point to get in losing especially if Logan beats Warren. It is probably going to be the Freddie's or Buckeyes.RAILROADN wrote:Nelsonville hasn't beat anyone with a winning record. Athens beat 1 team with a winning record. I don't give the freddies much of a chance in that game but if they win yes they'll make it if NY loses. If NY loses and Freddies lose then the hustlin hornets might squeak into top 8 with a victory.

No prediction, but I hope that NY wins, so if GAHS wins maybe they can get a home game.

As far as the Buckeyes gettin spanked,,,,,,,,I don't think so
As for the secondary gettin "lite" up ??????!!!!!
I do believe Athens QB is a very good passer but the question is will NY's defense get a couple picks for 6?? That could be the game changer right there...

Re: Nelsonville-York (7-2, 4-0) vs Athens (8-1, 4-0)
Burrow has only thrown 2 INT's all season ... out of 197 pass attempts he's only been picked twice ...
Its more likely that Nelsonville-York controls the ball on offense - and doesn't allow Burrow and the Athens offense to take the field - than getting pick 6's ...
that's how NY can win this game.
