One of the best crews in the area will be calling the game this evening. I think the fans will be pleased when they see who is wearing the stripes come game time.
Hootie must be doing the game tonite, Good news for the Buckeyes !!!!
If I had to place a bet I would say HOOTIE is officiating tonights game. They sure did'nt have a problem using him for the Trimble and NY game thats for sure.
In my opinion he should not be allowed to officiate any High School Varsity game at NY since that is where he is from and his roots are.. I know he does alot officating at Trimble and probably other places and thats fine.
This is one of the most diffcult game to predict this year, well here we go. This might just turn into a scoring derby with the home field advandge playing big in the out come of this epic battle! In the end a turnover , a misplay or a bad call will spell doom for one of the teams. That being said the final will be:
Congratulations Bulldogs! TVC Ohio champions, the Doc Kroner trophy resides in The Plains for at least one more year, the Dog Pound trophy resides at Dog Pound South for another year, a second consecutive trip to the playoffs for the first time in school history, a home game next week. You worked hard dogs and deserved it all, good luck next week and get that first playoff win in school history!
Nelsonville-York is a good football team, dropped passes and penalties killed the Buckeyes several times tonight and Athens played a fairly consistant game all the way. I'm not sure how the playoff picture is going to play out for N-Y but I hope they get another chance to show their talents with a game next week. Joey Young, Clint Handa and company were impressive at times but the Athens team just had to many weapons for the Buckeyes to answer for. Joey Burrow shook off a slow start and rebounded for a very good game while Trae Williams kept the Bucks defense honest with a very good game of his own.

So what league in SE Ohio do you want them to play in? I am sure you will pull a non-existent one out your pie hole. NY put 50 on Logan, and though Athens lost to Gallia, that was the 1st game of the year, and they made a ton of personell changes, and have not turned the ball over since then.
The steamroller just couldn't handle the so called bull puppies tonight. 42 to 21 Athens victory.
Ten have tried and only one succeeded in upsetting the Athens Bulldogs, and since that first game, the Dogs have adjusted and adapted to overcome some very good ball programs. Nelsonville looked spectacular with their running game and gave a valiant effort, especially the first quarter, 15 plays and 8 minutes off the clock is nothing to sneeze at, that just shows how good the Buckeyes really are with their football program and the Bucks and their fans should be proud of what they have accomplished this season.
The Athens defense played like champs and held the Bucks offense to only 14 points, the other 7 points was on a kickoff return which was spectacular itself. The Athens offense played a smart game and pulled down 42 well earned points. Thanks to the Dogs in the trenches for allowing Joe Burrow and company, and Trae Williams, the opportunity to show the level of football intelligence those young men possess.
Good luck next year when we battle it out again for the trophy.
Went to this game, and man do I wish NY could have prevented Athens from jumping out early. If not for that this would have been a tight game till the finish. As a neutral fan I was really hoping for a close game. Athens' offense is, of course, explosive and caused problems. I'm fairly certain they could have ran the QB Draw all night and moved the chains - did it ever fail?
It's a shame that the Buckeyes will be just a fraction away from the playoffs. I really thought a match-up against Valley would have been excellent. Athens has the offense to score on anyone, but it's up to their defense how far they go in the playoffs. Good luck Bulldogs!
