I believe you will have to go to Gallia to see McNicholas, McNicholas has two opponents they defeated playing each other tonight and will gain enough second level points to move to the #5 seed either way that game turns out so Athens should be playing Circleville who will fall to #6 at home.Joedirt wrote:Excited to go watch dogs take on a team from cincinatti looks like, Big boys are comin so make em have a longggg trip home and win 1 for yourself and the TVC. It looks like Nelsonville-York is gonna fall just short of week 11 this season, Logan getting beat by Warren was a big blow to the Buckeyes as was Alexander losing to Meigs which was a team Coal Grove beat. Keep your heads high Buckeyes, you still had an excellent season that you should be proud of!

I know the Nelsonville-York team and their fans are disappointed with the outcome of the game last night and narrowly missing a week 11 game but I must say that I'm surprised that no N-Y poster has even comment on the game.
Re: Nelsonville-York (7-2, 4-0) vs Athens (8-1, 4-0)
Its gonna be quite till next yr a-town. Was hopen they get in so there be 3 area teams in. They bounced back to finish strong but ran into the best team ive seen in a long long time. Now a-town the teams get bigger and better so everyone gonna see some good football.Good luck to both Athens and Trimble

Good news for Athens is they moved up to number 3 in division 3 region 12....bad news is instead of hosting a Gallia or Circleville they get Cincinnati Archbishop McNicholas.

Well I guess my board name should show who I support. And it has been quiet from NY Fans on this subject. I'm Too old for the childish trash talk that goes on from some folks so let me call it like I seen it. I thought NY did a pretty good job and had their chances to keep it close or even pull off a win. Had a couple of nice drives that should've resulted in points and didn't. The penalties just added to what was already a steep hill to climb. You can't miss opportunities against a team like Athens and come away with a victory. Last year NY went into the game with the emphasis on stopping the run and got beat by the pass. This year I think the opposite was true. That's not to say that Burrows & Co. didn't do an effective job of passing the football but NY just didn't have an answer for the run game when they needed to make the stops. The 'Dogs also controlled the line of scrimage on both sides of the ball and when it gets down to it that's where games are won. Despite putting a ton of points on the board over the past 7 games, NY's offense was just too one dimensional to keep up with a team that has so many weapons. I thought the boys put up a valiant effort throughout the game when it would've been easy to pack it in. Hats off to the Bulldogs and good luck in the playoffs. To the Buckeyes, congratulations on another winning season and an admirable effort. I'm sure Coach Boston will tell you next year starts next week in the wieght room!

McNicholas will gain enough second level points to pass Circleville and will play Gallia, Circleville will be at Athens after tonights games are factored in according to Eitel's numbers.greatone wrote:Good news for Athens is they moved up to number 3 in division 3 region 12....bad news is instead of hosting a Gallia or Circleville they get Cincinnati Archbishop McNicholas.

Athens will play Circleville. One game on Mcnichols schedule tonight will push them to 5 and they will end up with Gallia. Cirlceville will drop to 6 thus going to Athens. Good luck to Athens next week. Saw where NY bumped below coal grove.
I agree old Buckeye. Athens can run if u spread out to much with them. If you dont spread out they will kill u with the pass. Thats whats called a balanced offense. and about ny being 1 dimensional is right. much easier to pack the box than defend the whole field.
Good luck the the bulldogs and tomcats in week 11. Protect your house.

NY dominated at times. But when the refs got involved it killed them. Would have liked to seen if the crew that should have had the game would have ended up doing the game. The crew that ended up with it must have been on here reading all the ref bashing posts and made their calls accordingly. One penalty on Athens until late in the game? Are you kidding me? Good luck to the puppies in the playoffs.

I will be pulling for both the 'Cats and the 'Dogs next weekend.

Come on now! Never read anything on here even close to referee bashing. Someone said they hoped Hootie did not get the game. I said I hope the Nelsonville crew did not get the game. That is far from bashing. Nelsonville was just out played, they fell behind early which hurt their game plan. But give them credit they kept fighting. I think it was you who said everyone would be happy with the crew that was doing the game!

And everyone would have been happy if the crew that was supposed to have the game would have actually had it. I will give the puppies credit, they out finessed the Bucks. How many penalties did the puppies end up with anyway? Just curious.N4sir wrote:Come on now! Never read anything on here even close to referee bashing. Not sure about number of penalties. But I think Athens jumping out front by a couple scores took Nelsonville out of their game plan and I think that may have hurt them. Gotta give credit to them to for playing hard. Just great players at every skilled position for Athens. Makes it hard for any team to stop them. If the Athens defense can step up and get some stops in week 11 I think Athens can make a deep playoff run.

I guess not jumping offsides is a 'bad quality' in a team?
Those were the most penalties being called last night ... offsides, illegal motion, etc... etc ... don't blame the refs for Athens playing 'smart' - they have played all season like that Amarranvajas.
And their was nothing FINESS about the Athens defense last night - they may have gave up yards - but NY had to earn every single one of them ...... I just watched the opening kick-off on Channel 15 - and if that first hit by Alex Tritipo is considered 'finess' in your neck of the woods - I would love to know what being 'physical' entails.

The refs had nothing to do with the outcome of the game. I though line play was the difference. Great job athens and good luck week 11.

my second trip to the dog pound.....very cool people....treated this Logan guy great.....great people...HATS OFF TO JOE...MIKE...and ALL THE NY FANS.....really enjoyed myself.....haven't been to a game since ole number 27 was carrying the load for the CHIEFS.....but all this crap abour penalties didn't matter cause Athens won it on the line....was obvious.....don't know why NY kept trying the middle and running to the right ...always toward the short side of field.....think with all the speed that NY backs have they just didn't use it.....and the QB from athens is best have seen since TRI-VALLEY playoff game which ended CHIEFS season back in 2007.....quick on feet and could throw a spiral threw a brick wall........good luck to the BULLDOGS.....in week 11..... 8)

He's just being a pot stirrer in the forums who has no clue.
Some of his other posts:
"The Bucks keep on rolling in this one. With all the weapons on the field, which if they had them all year they would be 9-0 right now, the puppies will not be able to stop them. It may be close, but NY out athletes and out coaches the puppies. Here little puppy...
Çalpreps has no clue. Cal has no idea of the hornets nest that was kicked by the outcome of he game last year. Bucks had to hear all year how they gave away a perfect season, and the TVC. We'll see what Cal says after the steam roller finishes beating the puppies. Here little puppy...
I doubt he is fast enough to outrun the Bucks swarming defense. They get there quick, with a bunch of friends, and it stings to beat he11 when they make contact. If he can out run that pressure long enough to get a pass off he will most likely be intercepted. So pick your poison. Bucks roll... And the cannon roars..."
Ya just gotta look past his idiotic mentality.
