Logan is the only high school in Hocking County.
Circleville is about twice the size of Logan in terms of city population, but Hocking County is about twice the size of Circeville in terms of population.
I would guess that Logan Elm, Amanda-Clearcreek, and Teays Valley take most of the fringe rural areas out of the Circleville city school district.
As the gentlemen above me have pointed out, there are several school districts outside of Hocking County who draw students from Hocking, especially on the western part of the County where a students in Laurelville attend Logan Elm.
Hope that helps.

Re: Logan Football 2013
Circleville city schools services very few students outside of the city proper. Logan Elm (south and east), Westfall (west) and Teays Valley (north) service the rural areas around the city. Circleville is a mid-sized d3 football school as a result.
Heath Hinton is a graduate of Amanda-Clearcreek (Ron Hinton is his uncle, as is Tim Hinton who is on Urban Meyer's staff at OSU), and played at Marietta. He was an assistant at, I think, Dublin Coffman (or Scioto), then head coach for a few years at Wellston (3-4 years?). He then was head coach at Marion Harding for several years (not sure, but 4-6 years). He assisted for a year or two after Harding I think, and finished his first season at C-ville this year. Not sure of his overall record, but it was bad at Harding (a lot of reasons for this are community-related there, I have heard). He had some success at Wellston and this past year.
He definitely knows football, and seems like a coach tailored to coaching in this part of the state. Very run-oriented.

Southern ( Miller)
Vinton County
Logan Elm

So you can see not all kids in the county go to Logan

Students at Tri-Valley are elible to play for their home schools, but I don't think many do.

I thought Hinton did a nice job at Wellston. It was a loss for them when he left, although they have another good coach there now. Marion Harding has a lot of problems, it's an extremely tough job. I know a guy from Logan who has been on staff up there, including when Heath was the HC.
He did a tremendous job at CVille this year on short notice, but they obviously have a nice group of kids to work with. If Heath Hinton HAS submitted a resume to Logan, it would be a sign that multiple good candidates are in the running for the job which is always a positive.

Those districts are not inside the hocking county line. Hocking county has one school district and one high school, But 90% if not higher in hocking county attends the logan school district. Maybe school bus cut of points is why some attend out of the county. But it's a very low number.redrocket wrote:All the districts that I posted are a part of Hocking County. A total of six different districts make up Hocking County.

Re: Logan Football 2013
Good map but hocking county only has one school district, very little outer lying townships have an option and i believe it's school bus pick up cut off points. The biggest majority of hocking county goes to logan and very little have an option. Parents take them to school if they decide to attend logan i believe.
Re: Logan Football 2013
Looks like Logan Elm would have the biggest area from outside school districts which is what I suspected.

As a parent of a player who just finished his last season at Gallia Academy, i would recommend Alex Penrod to any school, to their parents, to the community. He not only has results on the field, but has taught my son sooo many positives that he will carry with him the rest of his life which is the all tell sign of a quality coach and leader. Kids, parents, community respect him. But would hate to see him leave for the impact he has on so many kids lives down here.mustang_lvr wrote:Alex isn't quite ready JMO

Yep. Tone of the program needs to be set. If you don't want to work hard, don't want to excel, don't go out!mustang_lvr wrote:better have a coach and staff before middle of march
