I talked to a member of the PHS BOE last night. The member has to keep quiet about who it is, but the next head coach will be someone from out of town, some new blood.

One of the possible reasons to be quiet could be to give them a chance to give a notice to their current employer. The two out of towners were Estep and Pratt.
Now which one would need time to give notice at their current employer?

I heard that Alex Penrod from Gallia Academy interviewed twice. I would hardly call a young man who played at Logan and coaches at Gallipolis an insider.

Just confirmed by Daily Times Jason Sparks will be the next head coach at Portsmouth HS. Congrats and welcome Jason. Also Jason will be assisting his former head coach at Pinecrest to coach Team USA U-18 in International Bowl in February.
