sounds like coach saunders got his foot in the door and is setting his son up to be the coach in a few years? of course when you head the committee you can appoint yourself assistant lol
I don't understand what the connection is?

I personally think that Coach Saunders is a great fellow, and I would trust his judgement on anything football related.

Coach Saunders cares about Gallia Academy Football and will help them succeed, he's not there for personal agendas. Wade is a quality young man who's been coached by and worked with some outstanding coaches. Wade has also been apart of nothing but winning programs. He will do very well!

Have no trouble with any of the coaches being discussed..... The new coach is appointed by a committee and then he hires assistant coaches on that committee, no one has a problem with that??? Well I think it stinks.... But this is not the first time its happened at good old GAHS....

Let me ask a question here. If coach Eddy would of stayed and the above changes would of happened on the staff would anyone of had any problems with it? The reason why i am asking the question is every assistant that was not rehired off of last years staff with maybe one exception was not coming back even if coach Eddy was the head coach. The boys all new this was probably the case at the end of last season.

I think the people on here doing all the hating need to find something better to do with their time. i think this will be a fine staff. plus with all coaching staff positions you have to look at who is being paid and who is not being paid. And also what teaching positions were open and what staff holes needed to be filled.

This could be a big mistake or a under estimation on my part but i think Wade will have a long tenure as head coach if he wants it.
he is already doing things to strengthen long term good of the program even before moving to the community and he has a long term plan.

I also think a lot of you over estimate the pull that some of the good ole boys still have in the system or the community. If they had the pull and influence that you think they do they would of already pulled the strings and tapped the right people to fund that football stadium!!! From what i am hearing the good ole boys have came up empty there and have lost a lot of their influence and the new superintendent is getting results even while steeping on toes of those same people.

In the class room not on the athletic side. Really don't feel but in certain circumstances the superintendent has much to do with athletic side. And what i mean some fairly influential people had children and friends apply for teaching jobs and have not been hired and some not so great teachers are moving on.

I have been told by kids of several recent retirees and early retirees have been asked or pressured to leave and each time kids feel replacement has been quite an upgrade. even if they don't personally like them or think they are hard.

Good point 83, and I agree 100% with ya... There are also a few exceptions.. I have no idea who the influential people are you mentioned.. Super has to be careful because sometimes the influential candidate may be the best fit plus you cant rule a candidate out just because they come from an influential family... Hopefully they will pick the best candidate for the job....

I was under the impression, that he was asked back, but he was not interested in the position that was offered to him and decided to explore other avenues. But either way he might of done a okay job with receivers but his primary role was special teams coordinator and for the most part i thought are special teams were pretty much a train wreck last year. We did not cover kicks well or return kicks well. Out of all the assistants not back i thought of him as the week link.

with that said as a person i really like him and wish him well. And if he wants to really have a coaching future he needed to venture out in to some new surroundings and get some different experiences.

Interesting, I wonder if they will use him for special teams here in Jackson? Hadn't heard about this yet here in Jackson.

can we maybe talk some actual football on this thread.

offensive possible starters
off line
williams sr
moore sr
roberts sr
byus sr
few jr
other possibles
preece sr.
sipple soph
johnson soph
wills jr
owens jr.

i feel really good about first 3 in williams, moore and roberts. but after that a lot of question marks. are there any other possible canidates i'm missing

skill positions
jarrell qb sr

eastman sr
allison sr
warnimont sr
adkins sr
jarrell soph
other possibles or should see some playing time
wilson jr
miller jr
sheets jr
henry soph
streeter soph

anyone else see anyone else on the roster making much of a offensive impact. i am hoping i am missing or forgetting a few players if not i think we will have to have 7 or 8 kids play both ways. even before injuries
