Monroe Central 2013 schedule
Monroe Central 2013 schedule
Anyone have the 2013 Seminoles' football schedule? I've heard they dropped Waterloo for Union Local in the season opener, but was told they might be playing 1 or 2 other new schools.
Amazing what coach Jay Circosta has done in Woodstick.

To my knowledge Union Local is the only new team they picked up. So the schedule should look like this.
Union Local H
Shadyside H
River A
Caldwell A
Fort Frye H
Magnolia A
Shenandoah H
Barnesville A
Frontier H
Buckeye Trail A

ok, thanks. heard at work they might be playing Meadowbrook, then couldn't figure out who they'd drop.

Boy, SS, had they picked up Meadowbrook too, that schedule would have been a blast from the past. We used to play Union Local every year, and Meadowbrook as well, when they were a member of the PVC. Just need to throw Beallsville and Waterford in there too and you'd be looking at a schedule very similar to the late 70's and early 80's. But of course, neither the Blue Devils or H2Oford want anything to do with the PVC anymore.

Re: Monroe Central 2013 schedule
It appears Monroe will be D.6 now with the new divisions. This team should make some noise. Heck of a backfield with Nixon, Brown and Carothers.
Re: Monroe Central 2013 schedule
That would be a heckuva backfield, however Nixon is still questionable after ACL injury wiped out his junior season.
Re: Monroe Central 2013 schedule
Surfsider I am not sure who you are getting your info from but it is way off. Nixon could have played hoops toward the end of the year but chose to wait for football to return.

I agree ^^

Re: Monroe Central 2013 schedule
Nixon never really took over the position as a sophomore and as much as I love to watch Levi his size limits him. I thought Nixon looked better as a WR than a RB, and even better in the secondary. He'll be rusty having been away from football for a year. Also considering they'll be breaking in a new QB with an unknown line I think MC will struggle early on next year.
They'll miss the playmaking ability of Lafferre

Re: Monroe Central 2013 schedule
They'll probably be tuned up for that week 5 game home vs Fort Frye
Re: Monroe Central 2013 schedule
Nixon will be the QB. Brown/Carothers RB. That's a lot of speed and big play ability in the backfield. With that experience at the skill positions and a OL with a decent amount of size they will be plenty fine.

Nixon will be hungry after having missed a season, I think he will come out strong and the noles will have a good season behind Nixon and the senior group!
Re: Monroe Central 2013 schedule
Hope Nixon's got the arm to throw the deep ball?
CN2 and buckfarnesville, I had only questioned his return because of all the reports I had got at work. If he's as tough as his ol' man was running for old Woodsfield High he'll do alright. And being a D-6 school has got to be a big help in the Seminoles playoff plans.

Yes, SteelyDan, It does resemble our old schedule. Just missing Bishop Donahue and Buckeye West. I liked playing Union Local, the game was always played on Thursday, and pretty much a push over, as was Fort Frye. BTW SD...Happy Four Twenty Day...I hope you enjoyed the day with a couple of your favorite buds :122245 (excuse the pun).

NL - You know me too well. And I did enjoy Four Twenty Day with a few of my favorite buds :122246 . I had forgotten about Bishop Donahue being on the schedule, and Buckeye West, it seemed like it took forever to get there...... 8)

Since the levy went down in the county, I'm hearing that in order to participate in any sport, it may cost $1000.00 or more per student athlete per sport. Any clarity on this?

Re: Monroe Central 2013 schedule
I hear that the natives are restless and things are getting ugly already between the board and the constituents of the district. Has all the makings of a long, drawn out, battle. That is not good. Of course, the Board deciding that any kid who was in arrears on their lunch payments by $25.00 or more were not to be fed ANYTHING beginning yesterday, with very little notice (Friday afternoon/evening and no lunch Monday). And they did not let the kids call their parents to come to the schools to bring them food or get their lunch accounts current, so there were children yesterday that went the entire school day with no food. That's right, they didn't even offer these kids a PBJ and a carton of milk. NOTHING. School board is in for it now.......
