Wheelersburg had three boys too many to be in D6? I am very disappointed in the administration at Wheelersburg. This would NOT have happened 20 years ago! :122249

So 20 years ago you would have kicked 3 boys out? How does that work?

Sarcasm does get lost on the internet. I even added a winky face.

20 years ago the football team would have worked 3 players to their death to improve chances of smaller district. Things had a way of working themselves out....oh for the good old day.....

I remember when our seniors now were in the 7th grade and we went up there for a scrimmage game to watch and let me tell you something....those Jackson boys were HUGE!!! we had a few RB's try to run the ball against them. like Jordan Howard and a couple others and there was no yards gained hardly at all! We had only two boys that were 7th graders that could run against Jackson at that time named Chase Foster and Kyle Davis. Kyle ran the ball about 8 times for about 42 yards and that Foster kid ran the ball 3 times for about 48 yards. Hopefully those two seniors now will help the Pirates contribute in winning this year against the iron-men.

I watched the intersquad scrim and practice yesterday. I was impressed with our size of both linemen and skilled guys. The linemen seemed 6’2 or 6’3 250 plus and good feet. Skilled guys all seemed to be 6’1 or 6’2 180 to 200 and fast. Not a lot of emotion but working hard and focused I guess you could say. The frosh came down and scrim the jv while the varsity practiced on the other half of the field and I counted around 75 kids on the same field. This season just got very interesting to me. . Excited to watch the chilli scrim.

The Holden kid has got to be 6’6 and surprisingly fast. He will eventually be unbelievable but for now I think it is smart move by the coaches to leave him with the frosh and jv group to develop. Maybe later in the season bring him up. I think he will have many opportunities to play college football being that tall and athletic. I know he is good in basketball but there are thousands of basketball players like that but not as many in football.
