Part of the deal to get him to take the job maybe?Wellston Ironman wrote:Wellston Ironman wrote:The best thing about people from Wellston is they have Jackson on their license plates!
I just love this. Best wishes to Greg. One question. How can you hire a new coach and more assistants. Seems unfair to the old coach. The new guy should have to deal with the same handcuffs.

For the sake of the league, I hope they hire a good coach that can turn things around there. It will only make us all better in the long run.

From what I hear, it would be pointless for anybody to apply until after Phillips decides he doesn't want it.

I don't think Wellston will ever be better than a 6 win football team because the community doesn't give a rats *ss about Wellston Football....

Hutch won't stay unemployed for long. He would be a great addition to any coaching staff. Preferably Jackson's or VC.

Do you have to be a teacher to be an assistant ? The man eats sleeps and breathes football, he needs to be teaching the game in some capacity.Blue Duck wrote:His problem his he is not a teacherViking96 wrote:Hutch won't stay unemployed for long. I just meant that not being a teacher hurts any assistant. It has to be awful hard for non teaching assistants to make a 3pm practice everyday or make it to summer workouts or 2 a days while not on a teachers schedule.Viking96 wrote:Do you have to be a teacher to be an assistant ? I got ya. So It's not "Dutch" nor "Hutch." Well hopefully he finds a spot on some staff, but from the outside it looked like a change was needed. From reading about the board meeting and the two drunk women getting in a fist fight I'm not sure who will want the job, but I hope they do get someone good.Viking96 wrote:The mans name is Chris Hutchison.hardhitter ll wrote:Is is Dutch, or Hutch or are those two different people? Please someone give me a history lesson on WHS Golden Rocket Football.
Coaches: Everyone remembers Ben Wilson, I can remember Fisher, Blankenship 2X, Brennan 2X , Fiffe, Carter, Blackstone, and a older gentleman 2X they brought back to restore the system. Anyone know the years for these coaches and anyone I'm missing ?

Yes "Hinton" I remember him !Ironman92 wrote:Hinton
I was thinking they had a coach that had alot of ties with Unv. of West Virgina for a few years. Also I'm still trying to think of the older coach they brought back in the 8'0s to rebuild the program he was there just before Fiffe.
