We beat St.V at the Akron Rubber Bowl for the state title in 1979. They played a few games in that stadium during the year if I recall. I played in that same stadium while at Akron from 80-84. Not sure about this one but think this might be where Athens gets stopped. I may be wrong but I just think Akron St. V plays on a whole other level. With that being said I hope that Athens can do it and will be rooting for them. I know the community will be in full support no matter what happens.

Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium is a fantastic venue. Seating isn't tall but strectches the length of the field on each side. Parking sucks is what I remember most about it, though it's been about 4 years since I've been there. Wish this game would have been in Zanesville(selfishly)!

Looking at the geographic of Akron and Athens. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND how this game is not in Zanesville?? Athens is driving 2 hours, and Akron is driving what 50 mins? SMH Zanesville has great facilities. Was someone paid at the OHSAA offices?

I dont understand it either I know for a fact its 1hr 45min from Glouster to New Phily tack on extra 15 leaving from The Plains yes 2hrs. Not so sure if ASVSM is even 50 mins away. May be closer. I have been by the school before from there to Canton is like 20-25 min then maybe extra 15 min to New phily.
