I too enjoy reading all of those posts about football and the upcoming games. I'm not a big poster, but sometimes people like BIGSHITINC irritate me because they would rather bad mouth teams and communities rather than talk football. In the long run I think that the majority of posters are here to discuss football that is played between the yard lines on a Friday night. I appolize for my recent flurry of post and will try to find a better way of venting my frustration with certain posters. (perhaps kicking the cat will work).
Good luck to all teams on Friday hope that all games are injury free. Best of Luck to all those teams that advance to week 11.

its hard to tell the medium income of the city of Athens. 66.7% of the population out of 23,000 are 18 to 24
Re: Wk10 Athens (9-0 5-0) @ Nelsonville-York (7-2 5-0)
I read an article in the A News trying to configure the population of Athens City without the OU students. It is about 6500-7000 permanent city residents. I am assuming that is in the city limits excluding The Plains, Chauncey and Millfield. Back to football though, I will take Athens in this one, wont name a score but Nelsonville will be physical and will fight til the end.

No true Buckeye fan would want NY out of the TVC Ohio in football. The Bucks have more championships than anyone else, and prolly more than all others combined. Next year the dominance will continue, and I can't wait to see the pay back to the puppies and their score running up coaches.

Athens will come back down to earth after the OU kids graduate, but make no mistake, they are still going to be a problem for the schools in the TVC year in and year out. A school like Athens can field an average athletic team and still have the ability to finish at or near the top in every sport in a conference made up of small poor rural county schools.

Top 3 football programs in Athens County the last 10 years. counting this year also.
Athens 66 wins and 41 losses= 62% and 4 playoff appearances.
N.Y. 71 wins and 34 losses= 68% and 6 playoff appearances.
Cats 85 wins and 25 losses=77% and 6 playoff appearances.
Good luck to all county teams week 10. Good memories to all seniors who will be playing for the last time or on their home field for the last time.

Re: Wk10 Athens (9-0 5-0) @ Nelsonville-York (7-2 5-0)
I honestly hope for a clean injury free game. The score is going to be lopsided, I don't wanna see any injuries that could hurt either team come week 11.........
As for Athens being in the TVC........ No one cared about the size of Athens city Schools when everyone could beat them. Now that they have put a darn fine team on the field, we see some folks who cry and belly ache about how big Athens is.
Athens was invited to join the TVC, a vote was had and they received enough votes. Athens didn't force their way in.
Instead of crying about how good the dogs are and how big they are, get behind them come playoff time. Thanks to Athens and Trimble, our little part of Ohio is getting a lot of attention from the rest of the state. It is sad that the dawgs have more respect from the rest of the state then they do right here in their backyard.......
I do believe that if they don't win their region this year, they will have been one of the most disappointing teams in Southeastern Ohio history.
Good luck Friday. It's senior night for the Bucks!
Thanks to all the seniors who have given their all for their school and community. It has been a pleasure watching them play.

I wonder where Athens will Cut-N-Run to next year after all the OU coaches sons are gone? Maybe Moonshine can give us a prediction? Will they run to the Hocking, or will even that be too tough for them?

Re: Wk10 Athens (9-0 5-0) @ Nelsonville-York (7-2 5-0)
All you people complaining about Athens being in the TVC should be ashamed of yourselves. I doubt Marion Local, Coldwater, complain much about who they are playing. I know my NY friends like the competition that they bring to the league. Facts are if you want to beat Athens get better. If you want I higher socioeconomic status go to college and get a job. Quit making excuses and giving your teams a reason and an excuse to fail. One thing I liked about that Trimble team a year ago. They made no excuses. They was "blue collar" through and through. To be frank, it took some embarrassing loses to Wahama to make that team as tough as they was. I didn't hear Trimble posters on here saying kick them out of the league because their rules are different. They worked and Wahama made them better because of it. So get to works boys, Athens has set the bar. Do you want to make an excuse to not get it done, or do want to take the risk of working you tails off to give you the best chance possible to unseat them from the throne. Athens will come back to pack some, but not if the pack doesn't put the work in that's required of them.
