Stick in your own conversations dude. I never said he said that. I was simply stating that other posters have said they were overrated and that's why no one ever talks about them. Don't jump the gun man.Westfan wrote:Overrated? What are you talking about? He was paying them a compliment. GeezJolly P(irate) wrote:They are overrated to many. Pulling a kids face mask about to tear his head off after he is down and smashing a defensless player 20 yards behind the play!!!1fan wrote:Roflmao west played with a lot of class and several burg fans were impressed. So your pot stirring won't work!demaniac1 wrote:Well, both teams were helping each other up just like last year. I don't know why #4 for Burg pushed the west player after #4 made a nice tackle. Seems kinda fishy, and I didn't see the first personal foul Burg got. But I did see the two big ones on West at about the 8 minute mark of the fourth so don't go touting how disciplined either team was. Seemed to me like the usual hard hitting game you normally see in this rivalry. and tempers flared. Main thing is to not take it out on defensless players!!!! NO CLASS!1fan wrote:Congrats to the burg on the win.
Good luck in the playoffs. I will say one thing I am so pleased with the new coach. He has really taught these kids discipline and how to act with wins and in defeat!! Seems funny that the burg had the personal fouls and the west kids helped the burg kids up off the field all night. What a great bunch of west kids!!! They should def be proud and def be pleased with their season. I know it's tough for these kids to not continue their season next week. You have nothing to hang your heads about. Great season!!
No stirring the pot here. Post was made how Burg was committing personal fouls and the angelic west players were, Angelic?? I just pointed out 2 plays that were the same ol for west players when Burg was beating them. My point being, Ill wait a few years to see how coach Johnson is able to handle the kids. It all starts in Peewee and if his feeder system is disciplined, they will grow up being disciplined.

I'm not sure who the best athlete on the field was but the most dominant player on the field was #53 for burg. He was held on about every play but still was in wests backfield the entire night.

Good win by the Pirates way to bring home the 29th gold ball I believe. Job well done by Coach Johnson and his staff I don't think too many people thought this team would of finished 7-3 and in be in the hunt for a playoff spot I for one did not. I think we're gonna see quite a few classic battles between these two programs in the future.
Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
Your kidding me? What so ridiculous about trying to hurt a high school kid for NO reason?? Are you justifying it? Are you saying there is a reason for his actions? He didn't come back in the game. Good discipline. Tell me why he did it in the first place? It happens Every year from West when they play Burg. Pushing and shoving, whoopee. But those two fouls just showed me the players do because they aren't disciplined. Last yrs game was tame to this crap, except for what happened after the game.Westfan wrote:Your ridiculous.demaniac1 wrote: Pulling a kids face mask about to tear his head off after he is down and smashing a defensless player 20 yards behind the play!!!

I don't like the crap. Last year was embarrassing to me and most of this community.
This was probably the cleanest west burg game in 30 years. Your own fans said good things. You just try to pick the white out of the chicken --it.

Yes he was. Haven't been around him for along time but I'm sure he is a great youngman also.fbnut wrote:I'm not sure who the best athlete on the field was but the most dominant player on the field was #53 for burg. He was held on about every play but still was in wests backfield the entire night.

Portsmouth Saturday game sucks. Weird situation for West. Do you meet on Saturday morning like you play next week even if you may not? I guess. Weird

Very nice post- I agree with you sir
Re: Week 10 The Pirates vs. The Senators
It was a fairly clean game tonight, West needed good play out of their QB and to be completely mistake free and neither happened. Clearly outmatched tonight, but they can live another week with a Portsmouth win tomorrow, thanks to Waverly smacking Chesapeake. Another week of practice is just further development for the young players even if they have to face the back to back regional champion in the first round. Drew Pasteur has Portsmouth as an 8 point favorite and West now favored to be the 8 seed.

Davis best athlete on the field tonight huh??

Posters like you are the reason the rest of the posters from burg get so much grief. You act like the kids from burg are innocent. Guess you should take off your rose colored glasses and pay more attention to what is happening during the game.demaniac1 wrote:Your kidding me? Congrats to the BURG on there 29th SOC Championship
There will be a lot of awards going to the Burg players in the SOC, and 9 out of 10 times the coach of the year goes to the winning team, but I have to say Ben Johnson deserves every award there is (SOC, district, and State) he is turning that program around and I'm not talking just wins or losses.(off the field and in life general) What I seen last night was awesome the WEST players helping our boys up after tackles no cheap shots, etc.. one of the things I noticed also in the last several years from west players was when they broke the huddle they would walk to the line, now they break the huddle and run to the line, they have turned in one year. I think the future looks good on the West Side. If everyone buys into his program they will compete every year. I can go on and on about the good things I seen and I'm not the only person, several of the Burg fans was talking the samething......So from my point Coach Johnson has my vote for coach of the year.

West has a great coach in house. He will now have to weed out the lower levels to ensure stability. West always has athletes, so a coach like Johnson bodes well for the senators.
