cold cold hard facts about the Jackson/ironton game
ironton's opponents to date are 32-28-------with their next 2 opponents currently being 15-1.
ironton has outscored their opponents 242-150
ironton is averaging 35 points a game---------while their opponents are scoring 21 points a game.

to date Jackson's opposition is 26-37
with their next 2 opponents currently being 10-5
Jackson has outscored their opponents 287-39
Jackson is averaging 36 points a game-------while thir opponents are averaging 5 points a game

THIS SHOULD BE A BARNBURNER. I LOOK FOR A MUCH LOWER SCORING BALL CONTROL KIND OF GAME.
IF THERE ARE A MINIMUM OF PENALTIES , THIS GAME WE'LL BE OVER BEFORE YOU CAN REFILL YOUR COKE AND PEE PEE.
BECAUSE THIS ONE WILL BE GROUND AND POUND BABY.THIS IS WHAT HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL IS ALL ABOUT.

Should be a heck of a ballgame between two good teams. I worry about Ironton making mental mistakes this late in the season. When we beat Jackson in 1979, it was the last game of the season and whoever won, went to the playoffs. Both teams played as close to mistake free football in a mud pit at the Tank but we prevailed. The playoffs are not on the line in this one but both teams can gain a huge bump in points with a win.

YOU ARE CORRECT ----------both teams should make the playoffs. a home berth is on the line for the fighting tigers who are currently 3rd in their region. the top 4 host. Jackson you have to feel even if they should lose they will still host. tough divisions both are in. in Jackson's region you have-logan elm, tri-valley, Athens, desales, dover, Granville
in irontons we have many familiar foes bishop Hartley, maybe one of the best teams in the whole state, st. clairsville, wheelersburg, coshocton, martin's ferry, liberty union, Portsmouth west, Columbus eastmoor 2 very tough, tough regions.

both these teams are very soundly coached and won't be looking past anygame. these 2 teams have great earned respect for each other.they are lifelong rivals.

I don't think Jackson can beat Ironton on the ground, if they beat us it will be through the air Ironton is really weak on pass defense Meigs threw at will on us Friday. If they tighten up the secondary, I think we just might beat Jackson. Thats my hope anyway.

I've been to one jottings. the 1st game wheelersburg game at the burg. that was the first night of my 35th reunion.
I have had season tickets since I was in the womb, but my truck broke down, lisa is working most every Friday night.
I've been doing a lot of projects here at the lake. and frankly tapped out. I hope to get somebody up here to go to Jackson with me. (I HAVE PLENTY OF NEIGHBOR'S THAT WANNA SEE IRONTON STUMBLE)that may be my shoe in. cause the truck hain't going nowhere anytime soon. I may have to wash it and just plant flowers around it , the manifolds are shot.been putting all the money and effort into the fort. I think lisa may be off the night that they play raceland. I hope to catch the next 2.----------I've listened to every second of every game though.praise god for iheart radio.

I have a feeling the ironton Jackson topic will be very lengthy. and very informative. not much smack talk. these 2 teams like to punch ya in the jib, win or lose, they'll leave it all on the field. one way er another they'll shake your hand in earnest and move on.both sets of fans/players are used to winning and not into ''moral'' victories. these 2 teams are going to be very, very physical. if I only make 1 more game, I pray it's this one.

I know i'll get flack over this. just water off a duck's back to me.
but I remember when these 2 communities were about the same size and played every year.
ironton has tumbled from AA, to d3, then d4, and now d5, only missing d6 by 2 players at the last cutoff. many in the state have no idea how small ironton has become, mostly because of the size schools they see us playing. so I take great pride in saying this will be a dandy game that ironton is involved with with an undefeated d3 team. this will be a bonanza of points to the winner. to the loser, it may likely cost them the home field advantage week 11.

but this here is week 9. nobody looking past anybody. if I can't get to it, i'll be glued to the computer with a big ole mason jar full of luzianne sweet tea, with a big ole wedge of orange squeezed into it. and chewin my nails to the quick.i can't wait to get ''ole mean green'' goin again . so I can see some games.

Especially if you are on here YTB :)

Ironton may give Jackson some trouble. This could be a great game.

Jackson 96.7 I don't think streams the game and it isn't available on iheart radio either. Perhaps the Ironton station doing the game does though, are there any Ironton fans that know this?

By the way thank you for your service and for what you do.

I think Ironton has what it takes to win this game in an upset! They seem to be much much improved since week 1 so i guess we will find out how much improved they really are! If the tigers win, it will be a very close game to the end.
