Agree 100%....not a good place at all. Hiring a some unknown guy who happened to be an assistant on an unknown college team might go down as the biggest mistake Portsmouth has ever made when it comes to their football program. The real question is will they continue to let some kid who learned football from John Madden video games run their program into the ground or will they cut their losses, admit they hired a cheerleader, not a coach, and hire someone who understands the dynamics at Portsmouth City Schools.wipala wrote:PHS football is not at a good place at the present time! No defense at all, offense is hurting, special teams are not so special and coaching is no where to be found, IMO. 1-8 and most likely a loss next weekend as well. People this is not bashing, just the cold hard facts! Not since Apel was coach has the Trojan been in this place.
Having said this, Go TROJANS!

"Understands the dynamics of the Portsmouth City Schools", wow, that may be one of the funniest things I have ever seen written here on Preps. Joker, please enlighten everyone on just what are the dynamics of the Portsmouth City Schools?

I have no idea what such dynamics might be, but being an assistant coach at places where one has the luxury of recruited athletes is not quite the same as (or in any way a qualification for) being head coach in a public high school setting where the program needs to be rebuilt.
