That is correct they were screens. Also I think the QB threw a couple of interceptions. Correct me if I am wrong.

This should be a tough game for the majority of the game but I think we are getting hot at the right time. I think it will be a two score game, maybe a closing seconds West TD to make it one score. But I'm going to take Valley 35-21.

West passing stats from last week: 11-18 for 175yds I think and 3 interceptions according to the PDT.

West had 275 yards of total offense against Minford. 175 passing yards and 3 TDs, but 2 of those came on 2 screen plays that totaled 105 yards. The rest of the game they had 70 passing yards total and less than 100 yards rushing and also threw 3 INT's.

West also blocked 2 punts for TD's

I was led to believe that West dominated Minford but to me it sounds like they hit 2 gimmick plays and blocked 2 punts and that was the extent of their offense (Yes A win is a win).

West will need to be turnover free and be able to be balanced to win against Valley.

West did dominate the game. Minford did nothing on offense. Both of there TD's came on short field due to INT. Screen passes are not gimmick plays. 1 INT was wrong route by receiver, ran a fade and hitch was called. I do agree West can't turn the ball over against Valley. Valley is the favorite and should be every game until someone beats them. West can win this game but need to play near perfect. Good Luck to both teams and stay injury free.

Weather is probably going to be a factor %80 chance for rain. To me this has to help valley.

Here we go with the, we are awesome in the rain. It has the same effect for everyone. Footing and ball handling is pivotal for both teams, which favors no one unless valley has magic feet or rain proof footballs.

Playing at West, right? Natural grass vs turf? Valley needs to call in the fire dept., water the cow pasture and get to work!

The only way Valley loses this game if the entire VHS coaching staff has a ......."PINKY and THE BRAIN" or a " REN & STIMPY" episode! VALLEY by 3 scores!

Westfan you guys dish it out but can't take it. And gimmick plays are part of the game you can expect more of them this week from West. Welch threw one week for a long touchdown. And that kid can kick.

Personally, I could care less what West did against Minford, because friday night Valley will get Wests best effort. West will play thier best and hardest game of the year. I treat West like a 6-0 darn good team, and I know the Valley staff and kids are doing the same thing. I have no worries that Valley will come to the Rock ready to answer the bell. Itll be a heck of a football game.

I’m sure the rock will be a rocking, but I have a feeling that the indians will silence the senators early. Indians continue the dominating win streak.

yea, welch plays for west....he is a senior and his dad Scott Welch was a pee wee coach for awhile for west. Oh almost forgot, his dad was one of the parent coaches on the field last year when west varsity played Burg.....until he got escorted to the school bus by a deputy.

Welch is an excellent athlete! he has been since he was a little guy. I've seen his dad throw the ball down the field 40 or 50 yards and this Welch boy would catch it on the speed run just about every time. Thats back when he was in pee wee football! and he's just got better through the years up til now his senior year.

I hope its a good game. A lot of respect here for the west program and the new coaching staff. Have same respect for the Indian program last 4 yrs. Impressive. Good luck to both teams!

Some of these comments are stupid. Let me just say this. If West wins this game it will be a combo of reasons.
1. It is home
2. The former staff did a heck of a job preparing these players for the last several years and it shows both in their work ethic and the opportunity to play varsity some of them for 3 years now.
3. The new staff has done a good job this year.
4. Indians lost 18 seniors and several like the Dunn kid could of played anywhere just about.
5. The odds

I was right.Congratulations West.
