I actually did think after the 2012 game that the burg probably was the better team but valley earned that victory, the weather, the burgs playcalling and burg players inability to control there emotions cost them that game. valleys qb just made plays when his team had to have it and know one on the burg ever stepped up and made the big play. valley was by far the better team last year. the burg had a chance to steal it last year at the end but once again no one could step up and make a play. since you brought up officiating didnt valley have a td get called back on a mystery block in the back that no one could find on film?Mad_Dogg wrote:u must have watched a different game in 2012 and 2013 than the one i watched b/c the 2011 game was the only one that valley earned. they were the better team in that one but the 2012 and 2013 game the refs helped out and everyone that was at the game knows itThats funny we heard that in 2011 also we seen how that turned out.......

Games left in order of schedule are: Burg; Warren; Logan; Portsmouth; Ironton; Gallia Academy
Games left in order of difficulty (in my opinion) are: Burg; Ironton; Logan; Portsmouth; Warren; Gallia Academy

Jackson Wins 28-24...The Burg comes into this game with a case of (Bigheaditis) and Jackson spanks the baby hard.......lol
Re: WEEK 5: JACKSON (4-0) at WHEELERSBURG (4-0)
If Jackson takes this game, it will not be because the team or coaches were taking them lightly. I watched part of their practice yesterday and they are very focused this week. Jackson may win because of defense, turnovers, or whatever but not because of "Bigheaditis" as you described it.oleblue52 wrote:Jackson Wins 28-24...The Burg comes into this game with a case of (Bigheaditis) and Jackson spanks the baby hard.......lol

Re: WEEK 5: JACKSON (4-0) at WHEELERSBURG (4-0)
Defensively Jackson will look something along the lines of this depending on what we end up doing up front:
D-Line: Will start two sophomores and a senior.
Linebackers and Ends: Will start several seniors and a sophomore.
Secondary: Will start a senior, and several juniors.
Overall on defense (3) Sophomores; (4) Juniors and (4) Seniors will most likely be the lineup although I am hearing couple nagging type of injuries for a few that may change that up just a bit. We have seen a freshman get some playing time as well during the last few games and he has done well.
Offensively we rotate in a number of different personnel, but O-Line including TE is anchored by all seniors except maybe 2 juniors. Quarterback is a junior and will have a sophomore and senior in backfield for most sets and wide receivers are a senior and junior.
Overall on offense most likely will have 6 seniors, 4 juniors and a sophomore for most of the sets.

Generally speaking to add a little bit to the above there will be 3-4 kids going both ways depending on down and distance.
Re: WEEK 5: JACKSON (4-0) at WHEELERSBURG (4-0)
I believe this will a close game Jackson is 4-0 for reason.
This is a solid Jackson team good enough to beat Wheelersburg I don't think so but that is why they play the game on the field and in forums

I do believe this will be a good game but I've seen burg play my Tigers. With that being said Burg wins this one 35-21. As far as Jackson beating Ironton easily don't see that happening either the Tigers line is getting better and Palladino is a beast

For what it is worth, I agree Ironton and Logan will be a load. Ironton offensive line that I saw in week one will be a lot better by week 9.
Re: WEEK 5: JACKSON (4-0) at WHEELERSBURG (4-0)
This is going to be a great game. So glad we are at home! Can't wait till Friday this week is going so slow.
Re: WEEK 5: JACKSON (4-0) at WHEELERSBURG (4-0)
I remember before Jackson and Burg first started playing, a lot of Jackson fans were saying that Burg plays in the SOC and they wouldn't be able to compete against the Ironmen due to the league they are in, obviously they found out different. Now that they have started playing each other they have found out what real football is. Good luck to both teams, but I think you better bring some ear plugs because the cannon will be firing at least 12 times.

Sad that this game is in wheelersburg, seating sucks! Just would be so much better at Jackson!
Re: WEEK 5: JACKSON (4-0) at WHEELERSBURG (4-0)
Why the he!! we talking about the Valley vs Burg games??? That will come soon enough! As for Jackson vs. Burg: I see Burg winning this by 2 or 3 touchdowns. The new QB has done a great job stepping in and replacing the one that graduated. He may be even slightly better. I'm very impressed. I know Burg will represent the SOC well!
Re: WEEK 5: JACKSON (4-0) at WHEELERSBURG (4-0)
WOW thats a statement. Better than Eddie Miller at QB.
Re: WEEK 5: JACKSON (4-0) at WHEELERSBURG (4-0)
Jackson has a beautiful huge stadium, but with the size you lose a lot of the atmosphere! Sure Jackson has more seating, but to say the seating at Burg sucks is a stretch. This game will probably be standing room only, but if I remember correctly, when Jackson came to Burg in 2012 and were 2-2 there was plenty of seating available for all of the Jackson fans who made the drive down.Oakie_Dokie wrote:Sad that this game is in wheelersburg, seating sucks! I would at least put them equal. He's pretty good.Blackjack wrote:WOW thats a statement. Better than Eddie Miller at QB.
