Warren So Far....

Post by Auburntgrfan »

Warren scrimmaged at Philo thursday. From reports did some things very well and still are stumbling around some, all coachable things, no lack of offort. Go to Point pleasant saturday, this will give them a good barometer of where they stand. Good numbers out more than in last several years @40 all four grades. Even have enough for a freshman team. Havn't had that in at least a decade. Kids are/have bought in to new coach's program and have worked very hard all summer. There is some talent out there and with the RMA (Right Mental Attitude) factor could be a real test for more teams than many think possible. Looks like good thing happening in Warrior Land thus far.

Saturday at Point Pleasant. Much better team than Philo. D-Front big all the way across. Stopped the run, but Warren could pass the ball. Varsity was 3-1 scores in favor of Point. From reports still much better than anyone expected. All coachable fixes. Still looking for a couple of positions, just who steps up to the challange. Sorting out who fits where, should be a busy week at Warren getting ready for the jamboree game this friday.
The Warrior web site is up dated, schedule and roster for this year. Pictures will be add as they arrive. don't forget to visit at:

It just seems like on paper anyway that the Peake will be outmanned in this game. Peake has like 150 boys and Warren has like twice as many!

I have saw about 10 teams scrimmage this fall. The point pleasant and warren scrimmage was by far the most physical hard hitting one of all. Thought Warren looked better then i expected, the score was 3-1 because point pleasant was so physical with them. i thought best sign from Warren was they did not back down from the contact, they hit right back but could tell they were not used to being that physical yet.

kvn; thanks for the overview. At last count Warren was about 90 all four grades. And a full freshman squad this year many, many years since that has happened. Hope that is an indication of things to come. Go Blue...

If I was a member of the community, I'd be worried about the future of the program. With Warren pulling out of the youth league, it's not looking good at all.

Being physical will serve Warren well in the physical seoal with the likes of hard nosed programs like Jackson , Gallia Academy , and Logan.

I am pleased with where the Warriors are right now, this will take some time. I see them beating Gallia and picking up a few non league wins. I'd be happy with 4 wins, tickled with 5.
