+1. And the SE District has had more Big10 players in last 10-15 years than most people realize.Rocket Proud wrote:Congratulations from Wellston. Great news for the TVC. Two big ten players in three years.
Joe Burrow- Athens, OSU, LSU, WHO DEY!

With what Warren and Logan Elm lost to graduation, I'd say Athens is the preseason favorite to win districts, with Burrow.buckhunter740 wrote:,Crab's brother wrote:I do not personally know Mr. Burrow but I would think that with the talent Athens has coming back in basketball, he will stick around to try and make a run with that group.
I also think that with JT Barrett already in Columbus, I would imagine a redshirt may be on the horizon for Joey to sort of separate the QB's on campus.
I agree with 93, he will want to put himself in the best position to compete for the wide open QB job in 2015. He would be crazy to set himself back a whole year just to play another year of basketball. The bball team got blown out in the second round of the sectional last year so I doubt he or anyone else is thinking that they have any chance of any kind of deep tournament run. As soon as football season is over at Athens he will do whatever Urban wants him to do and i doubt that Urban cares about Athens competing for the TVC basketball championship.
Good luck to Mr. Burrow. Go Bucks!

Athens may not have all coming back that you think...for basketball
Re: Joey Burrow commits to Ohio State
That's what I had already heard from a relative from Athens. If it turns out to be true it totally changes the bball situation at Athens and even with Burrow they probably would not be favorites bman.Bulldog Mom wrote:Athens may not have all coming back that you think...for basketball

Re: Joey Burrow commits to Ohio State
A big congrats from the Viking Nation. Can't wait to see him play for The Ohio State Buckeye on Saturdays. I think it is awesome. That he committe to a top notch big ten school when some posters, (well one poster) thought he was only talented enough to go to a small D1 school because there is no D1 talent in SE Ohio. Like it still isnt D1. Glad the (real) scouts could prove him wrong. Good luck this season Joe and Go Bucks.

Re: Joey Burrow commits to Ohio State
Danny Clark will be a junior in high school next fall.
Torrance Gibson now has Ohio State listed last on his choice of schools, which I believe he had 5 or 6 listed if I remember right.

Re: Joey Burrow commits to Ohio State
My first time to observe a JB game was when he was a sophomore. I have been a fan every since. I was very happy that he committed to OSU. Regardless of who his competition for QB at OSU will be, they will be some of the best QB's in the country. Taking it one year at a time, I hope he has a healthy and very successful senior season. I hope he enrolls early at OSU, but he is a teenager and if he chooses to stay in high school to finish his senior season that would be very understandable. The rest of his life will happen soon enough.
Re: Joey Burrow commits to Ohio State
Just read that OSU has given up on Gibson and that JB will probably be the only QB taken in the 2015 class.

Also early enrollment is very important!noreply66 wrote:A lot of how a QB does in college depends on the QB coach.
Re: Joey Burrow commits to Ohio State
Early enrollment does not matter if he is red shirted which is likely.
