Coaching can only do so much, but maybe the excitement of new coach who has excellent credentials, and one of the better head coaches in the area as an assistant will keep some kids.
Time will tell if it is or not. If McDavid couldn't win there anymore, I certainly have my reservations about the dynamic duo.
Not to take away from McDavid, but sometimes a change is needed.

Triplett's reputation is taking bad teams and making them competitive. I do not know how much he will be involved in the program building aspect, but he could help.

Ted is respected by many coaches in the state. I would think he may draw another high-quality assistant or two that wants to help him out. An all-star staff doesn't always equate to wins though, but it could help .

I don't know if it will work out or not. East, Symmes Valley, and Oak Hill will all be tough. Notre Dame will probably be down, but will Green have enough to beat them?

I'm not sure Lombardi himself could make a difference. Remember Green gave up 61 points at home last year to Northwest. When was the last time Ted coached on a staff with a winning record? Anyone?

It was 09 Sider when PHS went 7-3, no playoffs. Some very, very bad teams in there. Not impressed at all.

Thanks for the correction, I'm saying I believe one way or the other, I was just stating some facts.
Ted is respected by a lot of coaches in the state/area (for what it's worth), and he did coach on good teams in the early 00s.

Not that the PDT has never been wrong, but this is directly from their article.

Newsome makes the short trek to Franklin Furnace from West, where he was an assistant under coach Merril Triplet who announced his own retirement after last season. However, Triplet did not stay away from the game for long as he has volunteered to coach on Newsome’s staff. Triplet will coach the defensive backs.

If that poster says he is not an assistant then he is not. That you can be sure of.

I don't know anything about the situation, but if sportphotos says that Triplett is not on the staff, I would take as the gospel.

LOL!
