Portsmouth West Football 2014
Re: Portsmouth West Football 2014
The only thing I would really say he waits this long to quit. Must not want to Coach against his Son.
Re: Portsmouth West Football 2014
Odd to quit so late and leave a team in flux. Maybe the whole family will assist the new coach. Wasn't there another son that wanted to be head coach there?

Here's a good video of LU last year versus Berne Union. I like the aggressive style.

Re: Portsmouth West Football 2014
I have been reading this post without making any comments lately. The time has come to mention the process that was used to pick a coaching staff should not only be questioned but should not be used by other schools. I know someone apply for an assistant position on the football staff not to even get a phone call. This person has coached for over 10 years at the high school level and now is coaching for another school in the SOC. He was very excited about the chances of joining West Staff but after months of no phone calls etc. he has taken another position. I guess I don't understand the qualifications process when one person on the staff has not even been a high school coach. In closing I would think in the future if I was a coach looking for a position and had any experience I would not apply at West.

I know one thing for sure there is a lot of interest in the West football program with 14,214 views on this topic whether it is the West fans themselves and/or fans of other teams that is a lot of people keeping watch. West must of liked something about the individual who has never coached a day of high school ball or they would not have hired him. Wonder if this topic will hit 20,000 views by the first game.

The one person spoken of not coaching in a highschool game did coach 3 yrs of college. I guess that's not good enough for some people.

I get a kick out of idiots like you who have convinced themselves that one southern ohio community is in any way better than another!MClaw wrote:Exactly.black76 wrote:Most of us read it simply for the entertainment.

Is West playing in any 7 on 7 this summer? If so could someone post the times and places.
Re: Portsmouth West Football 2014
Another site says Liberty Union filled their head coaching position with Bryan Johnson. He is no relation to the Johnson's at West. This could increase the prospects of Dan and his other son helping at West.
Re: Portsmouth West Football 2014
Good for LU.
With their coach just leaving them out in the cold it is good to hear they found a replacement.

Same poster said that Johnson told the players before school let out that he may not be back. By the time the paper got wind of it it may have taken time. So the 38 days may have been misconstrued.game day wrote:Good for LU.

And yes local papers make mistakes. I believe ours had Triplett going to Green to coach db's.

In other words, I might believe it if it came from an resonable source but Westfan? Not a chance.
