Piketon 2014
Piketon still has a lot of talent for the 2014 season , going 4-6 in the 2013 season and only losing 5 seniors , only lose one senior on defense , and two on offense ,and will be dropping Minford for Lucasville Valley. What's everyone's thoughts for the Redstreaks 2014 season

There will be some improvements made to the football facility. New visitors bleachers and endzone bleachers for both bands. Also, contract with tru green to get the field grass back in shape.

Demolition is finished, the concrete truck was there this morning. New visitors bleachers should be going up soon.

Awesome, we'll have somewhere to sit for week one, lol. In all seriousness, some nice improvements!

smurray,
Personally I liked being on the sidelines at Piketon. Maybe my time as a photographer spoiled me, always allowing me to be on the sidelines. But even with the new improvements I'm sure it will be at or over capacity when the Tigers and Redstreaks match up in Week 1.
Nice to see Piketon making some improvements.

Re: Piketon 2014
G&B, the sidelines will now be off limits as a new fence will run the length of the back stretch from the front of the visitors bleachers to the corner. Another improvement we are going to try and get done is taking the corner off of the end zone by the old school. We plan on taking the fence directly behind the end zone about 15 feet from the back and cutting across the track. This will allow fans to be closer and free up that bottle neck that now is created by the fence and school being so close together.
Re: Piketon 2014
Glad to hear about the improvements. Good news for the Piketon and SVC communities.

Waverly's Downtown Athletic Complex is going to be very very nice by fall 2015. Hopefully by then the stadium project will be completed with turf, plenty of paved parking, brand new scoreboard, sound system, and a walking track for the public.
Maybe be able to host some smaller school playoff games.
The Downtown Arena (Hawhee's Palace) will have received two phases of renovations to keep it one of the, if not the, finest facilities in southern Ohio. Brand new bleachers should be going in soon along with some cosmetic improvements. New roof, doors, heating/air, and other renovations in phase 2. Will be an even better place to watch a D3 Boys Sectional game or Girls D3 Districts. Since Waverly is D3 in basketball now I wonder what the chances of landing a Boys D2 Sectional?
