FAIRLAND FOOTBALL
Re: FAIRLAND FOOTBALL
Wilcoxon.
End of discussion. They hired a "college football defensive guy," and yet, how many games did Fairland win 14-7...
Not. Too. Many.

Re: FAIRLAND FOOTBALL
Any word if they have started the interview process yet. I know some one who works with the father of the guy who graduated from the Burg that put in for the job. He said that he played at Mount Union and is now working with University of Coastal Carolina.

Wilcoxon will do a great job. Great offensive mind. Did a great job at South Point and knows what it takes to win. Worked hard for the program and the kids.
Re: FAIRLAND FOOTBALL
Rashad Jackson was hired at last nights board meeting. He is an ex Marshall player who has 1 year of coaching experience as the secondary coach for Fairland last year. The community is not happy. The majority of last years staff including Wilcoxon have already said that they will not come back and coach with him. The administration didn't want him but the President of the board went against the hiring committee's selection pushed him through anyway. Could be a long tough year for the Dragons.
Re: FAIRLAND FOOTBALL
I saw quite a few post from the players on social media and they seemed happy. So maybe that is all that matters!
Re: FAIRLAND FOOTBALL
It will be ok if they win but the other way it could be a problem. You need BOE on board with the program.

Visiting bleachers, sod, and track at Mayo Memorial are all brand new.black76 wrote:Fairland needs a new stadium. Is it in the works at all? If not, why not?
Track and bleachers were paid for by the BOE. Bleachers were a priority after the old visitors bleachers were condemned by safety officials.
The sod was laid by FYFL, FMS, and FHS parents and players.
I have a feeling that since the voters of the district have voted down a levy to overhaul the stadium all at once, the BOE and boosters will do it little by little. Just like when the stadium was originally built in the late 60s.
