Re: Logan Chieftains 2014
As a former coach in Logan , I can tell you there were a lot of sour grapes from parents. Didn't realize it as a player there but found out there are some idiots in town when I coached, lol.

Re: Logan Chieftains 2014
I have heard that Boals will be going out this year..anything to this?
He did play in some varsity games as a freshman.

Re: Logan Chieftains 2014
So I'm going to necro-post this thread because I ended up missing the discussion boat about where Logan will call home in <five years so I thought I'd quickly drop by and add some thoughts.
I think Logan will finds itself in either in the MSL or OCC (but most likely the MSL) by 2022 at the latest. Here's how I see such a situation happening:
The Ohio Capital Conference will have to re-align itself soon. There are several problems the OCC is facing. In the Cardinal Division, they have Canal Winchester playing two Dublins, two Hillards, and three Westervilles. Canal is by far the smallest school in that division, the next smallest school is bigger than them by 100 boys but they're competing with schools that have boys into the 600's. Aside from the fact Canal has not been very competitive in that new alignment, they're a geographic outlier. The Central Division also is imperfect, while the enrollment figures are relatively uniform they have two of the four Southwestern City Schools, Central Crossing and Westland, stuck in a real heavy hitter group. Neither CC nor Westland are very good at, well, any sport, and in terms of socioeconomics, those schools (although this is much more glaring with Westland than CC) face a bunch of a problems that conferences rivals such as Olentangy Liberty, Thomas Worthington and Upper Arlington definitely do not face. in the Capital Division, the two big problems they have is they have Mt. Vernon which is a far drive and they also have Franklin Heights which has had a myriad of issues of their own.
The only OCC division that is pretty much fine as is would be the one that Lancaster is in, which is the Ohio.
There have been rumors that Mt. Vernon will depart the Ohio Capital Conference for geographic reasons. The OCC (and SWCS) have to figure out what to do with Central Crossing, Franklin Heights, and Westland. Some have speculated a Mt Vernon departure would also give way to the possible "expulsion" of those three. I could see Grove City getting shuffled somewhere if that happens, because I know some have wanted Canal Winchester to join the Ohio Division for competition and geographic reasons. If Pickerington South ever gets built, then there'd be no need for Grove City to leave, which could mean that Canal could be a candidate for going back to the Mid-State League. Groveport-Madison I could see leaving the OCC too.
The Mid-State League does not have perfect eights across the board in terms of division apportionment. It's currently 8-8-6.
I could see this happening, because I really do think the "Southwest Three" could be the next integral part in MSL re-alignment.
Mid-State League
Division X - Hamilton Township, Teays Valley, Whitehall, Logan, Central Crossing, Franklin Heights, Westland, with an eighth team possibly being any of the following as Canal, Circleville, Groveport, or Logan Elm.
I could also see Logan being put in the MSL-Buckeye (much more plausible) and see Amanda get shifted to the Cardinal Division. I think Jim Hayes (MSL head) sat on his hands when it came to Logan because they may have wanted another team to come with them so there would be 8's across the board. A Logan entrance and no one else would mean 8-8-7. If Westfall was interested, they too could join the Buckeye and that could shift either Fairfield Union or LU into the Cardinal. I would also just wait and see if Bishop Ready does not leave the CCL (apparently they getting smaller and smaller) or if Bishop Rosecrans does not leave the ECOL. I'd bet the farm one of those two have considered joining the MSL with the intention of playing in the Cardinal.
TL;DR - I see Logan getting into the MSL as very plausible if the SEOAL breaks up because I really do think there are a couple of schools that want out of their current league that would be happy to join Logan to firm up the MSL at 24. I think Amanda is the school that faces the biggest chance of being moved into the Cardinal to make way for the Chieftains.

Is Aaron Banick playing this year?
Re: Logan Chieftains 2014
Logan also gets a D-lineman from Fisher after week five, will be a junior. Good size, has potential and is a big boy.

I assume everyone on last year's roster (plus Chance Cox who was academically ineligible) is playing until the team reports for two-a-days.
So yes, I assume Banick will be playing. I didn't get a chance to see him play last year.
