with these ethics in place friend it won't take long to build a program and weed out those not committed to giving their all. I love to read stuff like this.
IN THE LONG GRASS BY THE WATER, SO WATCH YOUR STEP. AND LET'S GO IRONTON FIGHTING TIGERS, OHIO STATE BUCKEYES AND THE CINCINNATI BENGALS
Re: WEEK 5(1-3)IRONTON@(2-2)SOUTH POINT. WHAT SAY YA'LL
Any word on the coaching changes in Ironton?
Re: WEEK 5(1-3)IRONTON@(2-2)SOUTH POINT. WHAT SAY YA'LL
I agree but this staff has lost control of the kids. Kids talking back to coaches not attending weight training etc.

Good luck Fighting Tigers, keep up the hard work.

Listed in the paper today was the Ironton BOE Meeting at 5:15. If something happened with the coaches or not happened should be known.

Ironton wins this and maybe one more game this year. Then tried to right the ship next year with a new coach.
Re: WEEK 5(1-3)IRONTON@(2-2)SOUTH POINT. WHAT SAY YA'LL
I'd bet there will be no changes this year period.
Let's look at some things to consider.
First thing would be they have to pay Vass, they aren't going to pay 2 head coaches. Why? Money of course, something Ironton doesn't have a lot of. The tax base in Ironton is very small. The "Ironton Mafia" if you will, for years has kept businesses from locating here. The biggest employer would be Leiberts,or what ever they are called now, they are tax abated. So,I'm gonna say the coaches are safe for the rest of this year. Now as of next year who knows. I do know there were people present at school board meeting complain about the current coaches last year. Time will tell

You are correct on some points. This was brought up last night in the BOE meeting behind close doors. The board said they would have to run this by the school attorney. It appear that this could have passed by a 3 to 2 vote. Also
the so called family of coaches were working hard to stop this from happening. Money was not the question they had fans ready to donate money to Ironton to support the change. I can't see this staff here next year for sure.

Unless Ironton rights the ship and runs the table, this staff will be gone after this year.

Having to follow contracts as well as the union and setting precedent for future contract matters. Also not sure that money can go directly to pay off the old coach or pay for the new coaches. High Schools do not operate like colleges in regards to sports and donor payments.
