Won't be a blowout, this game will be determined on the mindset of Coal Grove, if the boys decide to pack it in for the year then we are looking at a 3-7 season, if they want to play for pride and to show what could be for next year then the Hornets will win, if not then the Panthers retake the Little Brown Jug.

your're right 2trap. unfortunately, this is just another underachieving (loaded) Hornet team. there's no excuse for being totally unprepared every week. that being said, i'll take the Hornets by 2 td's2trap_4ever wrote:Won't be a blowout, this game will be determined on the mindset of Coal Grove, if the boys decide to pack it in for the year then we are looking at a 3-7 season, if they want to play for pride and to show what could be for next year then the Hornets will win, if not then the Panthers retake the Little Brown Jug.

Re: 1-7 Chesapeake @ 3-5 Coal Grove
Tonight is big night, with nothing to play for what will we see in the Grove tonight, I know some people will think that I am making to big of a deal over this but I feel that the next two weeks will shape the future of Coal Grove football, how they handle playing just for pride and nothing else will dictate how things will start off next year. I think when this season is over and everyone starts to look back on it there needs to be a lot of mirror time for both coaches and players and they need to ask themselves, "What can I do to make this team better?" There are going to be some that will not like the answer (esp. on the coaching side).
Also, a little tidbit about tonight, with a loss the Grove goes winless at home, ten years ago we were 1-9 and still our one win was at home, I cannot remember the last time a Hornet team went winless at home, if it has ever happened.

nothing to play for ??? little brown jug tonight and maybe next week a shot at knocking SP out of playoffs (all depends how week 9 plays out) there is always something to play for even if its just pride.
I still think hornets win this game easily

Temperature of the boys seems to be solid for Senior Night. I'm going to go with coal grove 35 Chesapeake 16
Good luck to both teams here's to a well-played injury-free game on both sides. Will post the scoring plays in this thread, Go Hornets!

Being a Peake fan, much as I hate to say it, Peake has shown a porous defense and often a lack of execution on offense. CG will most likely keep the Little Brown Jug in CG. But this is a young Panther team, the weather will be cold, and I believe the ol' pigskin will come loose a few times for both teams. While CG will most likely prevail, the possibility of an upset remains...but I just can't imagine Big Daddy not lighting a fire under the Hornets' gluteus maximii.
