Here is what I think lol, the SEOAL will be represented in DII, DIII and DIV next year by Logan, Jackson, and Gallia respectively. And lol Logan will be 9-1 with their loss coming at the hands of a 10-0 Jackson team, and Gallia will be 9-1 as well losing in the mud next year in week 10 and Memorial Stadium to the hands of the Ironmen lol.

But the real beauty to all this is, and here is the kicker...Jackson eliminates TVC powerhouse Athens in Week 12 next year...at the neutral field of Logan.

How the heck is that for a prediction lol.
Hope you're right, except for the Jackson beating Logan part.

Chiefs have a tough non-league schedule again with Lancaster, a resurgent Meigs, Loudonville (has almost everyone back, still in the playoffs), and Nelsonville-York plus Zanesville in week 9. I'd take 3 wins from those 5 games right now and feel good. Winning 3 of those 5 and taking care of business elsewhere could mean a return to the playoffs.

Will take some work, but I think we can get there. Last game against Lancaster for the forseeable future. Would be nice to go out with a win. Would ALMOST make a loss to Jackson tolerable, haha.

Congratulations to Jackson's representatives on the All-SEOAL team.

1st Team All-SEOAL

Alan Parana - RB/DB - SR
Reagan Williams - TE/LB - JR
Gabe Griffiths - RB/DB - JR
Austin Fairchild - G/DT - JR
Hunter Sexton - QB/DB - SO
Elijah Woolum - OT/DT - SO

Honorable Mention

Cole Bachtel - TE/LB - JR
Raymond Potter - G/LB - FR

Of the eight players mentioned above, seven of them will return next season. There are only five other players from Logan, GAHS, Warren, and Portsmouth on this team COMBINED that will return next season, which should bode well for the Ironmen in 2014. I can't remember the last time Jackson had two sophomores on the All-SEOAL team, and I'm not sure if there has ever been a freshman, albeit an honorable mention selection. The cupboard is fully stocked with Jackson losing one regular starter (Parana) and their kicker (Voiles) to graduation. Everyone else is back. As long as this group works hard this off-season and gets healthy, next season has the potential to be very special in Jackson.

Excellent group of kids selected for all league and all but one should be back for Jackson next year. One thing that was funny didn't see any administration at banquet last night or any school board members ?

Interesting. I wonder if that is a signal of things to come for coaching staff renewals.

Funny how when you are 10-0 everyone on bandwagon and go 5-5 and then 6-4 all that support vanishes.

And absolutely nothing has changed with the coaching staff. They helped bring Jackson two SEOAL titles when they hadn't won one since 1998, two playoff appearances, including a playoff win, and the program is set up for a bright future. Apparently no one cares about that now.

They lost some great players a couple years ago, have had an extraordinary amount of injuries and sicknesses the last two seasons, and had one of the youngest teams that I can ever remember at Jackson this season. Not to mention, they've played some of Athens and Wheelersburg's best teams in years, plus Granville and West Jeff. If people would be patient and support the staff, they will see it all pay off the next few seasons. I'm worried that won't happen though.

Absolutely this was one of the youngest teams since Mapes and Morgan in 90's. This team only lost one game that they shouldn't have (LOGAN) the other three are really good teams although I wish we would of competed better I think at end of year we where better with some of the kids that stepped up. Best thing these kids are already back to work on their own with Prater and will be back with coaches in Dec.

3 of 4 losses were to teams 28-2. Those 3 teams ranked one or two in their Region. Those 3 teams all won in week 11.

As for administration or school board being at the banquet.....

The softball team played in the district championship and there wasn't any administration or school board members there (it was graduation night...but my graduating daughter was at the game)

We won the dist championship and then played in regional semi-finals....we had an AD, principal and I believe 2 school board members.

We won our regional semi game and played in the regional finals and there was an AD and a principal there with no SB members. (Maybe 1...forget)

In my 3 softball banquets I don't recall any administrators or school board members ever.

It's all ok though. For the most part our administrators and school board members are extremely supportive and very active within the school programs. They are very busy people but IMO are more active within the school programs more than they need to be.

My XC team has made it to the regionals 3x in the past 5 years....there hasn't been an administrator or school board member at any single meet in those 5 years....it's ok.

I like to see a shake up in the coaching staff at Jackson, furthermore, I would like to see a change in the way the offense is ran! Too many kids standing idle on the sidelines that have outstanding talent and never get in.

I think the gallia game was a prelude for next season as far as the offense goes. Hunter can and Should throw the ball 15-20 times a game, that includes some deep balls to open the defense up. Should have a nice stable of backs returning. The line should be Bigger and better. The defense should be fast and extremely deep. Should be a fun year to be an Ironmen. I don't think a change right now is what the program needs.

I was told the fate of the SEOAL may be decided today in the TVC meeting. Can't wait to hear what comes out of that meeting.

I would imagine its the two that tried in the past. I think mainly they're just testing the waters in case the SEOAL were to fall.

We had the best defense in the league, gave up less points than anyone else in the SEOAL, and everyone except 1 defensive back is returning.

19-20 Juniors returning as Seniors. 20+ Sophomores returning as Juniors. Freshman class which includes 3 starters (one of which is Honorable Mention SEOAL) plus the rest of them will be Sophomores.

Said it above but will say it again. Wheelersburg, Athens, West Jefferson all playing this weekend in Week 12 Play-Off Semi's. They were 3 of our losses.

Many of the returning players have a year round commitment to off-season work both individually and as a team.

A transition year is not what the program needs. I do think however that everyone should re-evaluate their individual commitments, make some changes or tweaks after that if needed, and re-invigorate things a little. Best step for the current staff knowing how close last year's vote was to be proactive and not reactive.

But this is the SEOAL thread not the Jackson 2014 thread lol, so I have hijacked it enough, back to discussions on it lol.

Doubleplay -

I know I wouldn't mind a transition year down at Jackson, haha

I can understand why some Jackson fans get frustrated with Coach Hall, BUT, his defenses are always prepared and well coached. And I think he's really improved on offense. I think he's done a much better job of figuring out what he does well and staying with those plays/formations/etc.

This year is a great example. With a sophomore QB (who didn't play QB much as a freshman), it was smart to rely on a running game with the backs Jackson had. It allowed Sexton to grow as a QB, and lays a foundation for next year to be more diversified.

Jackson was extremely hard to stop when they went unbalanced up front, especially because Reagan Williams was so good at TE on the backside. Made the Ironmen very hard to stop when Griffiths/Crabtree/Rafferty were running down hill at you.
