JC is just to big. Why Ironton don't appreciate the home grown running back is beyond me. He is a good back to be bringing in recruits to take over in middle season.

I think a lot of people are asking the same question.
I would love to hear the answer.

Were they going to go?????

That's a loaded statement. But to say where means you don't know a lot about surrounding programs. For starters, Burg, Fairland, Point, Portsmouth, West, Valley, Minford, Oak Hill, or even Raceland or Ashland. All have solid programs.

the difference between Ironton and those other programs that you listed is a little something called TRADITION!!!!!! Obviously you do not know much about these area teams. Year after year I notice that Ironton is still playing when these other programs are putting there pads on the shelf. So that is what keep the kids coming and keeps them from leaving. I dont know to many atmospheres like the TANK.

^ Our they really your best?

Knowing the difference between, "Our and Are," is something you should have learned in second grade. You and RedSolo, from Jackson, should get together.

For starters only Burg and Valley would be comparable programs to transfer to.... I mean did you really mention South Point ? lol

Yes and for starters, everyone but some of you Tiger fans can read the writing on the wall. Spend time at any of the schools mentioned and add a few more to the list and you will be astonished at the traditions, the good educations, the quality of coaches, the quality discipline of some of these schools. So yes, Ironton had Coach Lutz who stayed with the program for what 40yrs and started winning in the 70's and had weight lifting that no one else had back then, and kids starting coming to play there and now here we are with Ironton having had the most winning Coach in Ohio high school! That is an awesome accomplishment and something Ironton should be proud of. But you have rose colored glasses if you think these programs aren't fantastic in their own right. Players love these schools.

Ironton is in a tough spot right now. With a few injuries already and heading into this rough 3 game stretch, it is a real possibility that Ironton could lose out the rest of the season. I mentioned 2-8 as a possible record before the Burg game when people were talking about their expectations for this team and was basically laughed at, but I could see it happening at this point. Honestly, I hope they finish with 4-5 wins, but the chances of that are not looking good at this point.

Last year this 3 game stretch killed the Tigers. They came out hurt and pretty badly beat up. This year wont do them any favors. Johnson Central is bigger and better than last year. If Ironton can come out and play their game which is line up in the T and run the football I think they got a chance. Ironton has to hold onto the ball and first quarter they need to jump on JC punch them on the nose and hope to stagger them back. If they cant do that it could be a long night for the Tigers.

Taking JC in this one but got to love how Ironstone always schedules tough opponents. Truly takes on all comers weather up or down.

The one thing I forgot to mention is the rivalries and the gates from the SOC especially. The Tigers really need in a local league.

Tigers will have to play their best game thus far. A perfect game and it will still be tough to get the W! Turnovers, penalties, missed tackles, and simple execution is a must if they don't want another burg score! I think this can be closer than most do and was actually my upset of the year for the tigers. Not so sure with the injuries but I know these kids will play hard for 4 quarters! Go Tigers!

one game at a time , yes I know. lets hope we stay injury free in these next 3 big games and if any of them get out of hand that we browse into the future with our 2nd string especially the QB. Since our 1st string is pretty much our future I am wondering if these teams that have beat us (ash, ports, burg) are also fielding sophomores , and juniors ? does anyone know let me know ??? thanks

I know Wheelersburg talks like they could have a real good team next year. Portsmouth will have some good quick players back. They were missing their QB, RB and star wide reciever Robinson for the Ironton game. The WR is back for sure with the rest of their recieving group. Ashland will have their real good running back return next year. I hope that helps you a little.
