When Logan had one of the best teams in school history (2000) we didn't play Lancaster (or Pick North) but we could get to the Regional final (farther than Lancaster has EVER made it) in Division I.
Beating or losing to Lancaster has no bearing on whether or not Logan can compete in the playoffs. And I don't want to drop Lancaster because of enrollment numbers. Enrollment numbers mean nothing to me. I've seen plenty of great DIV schools who could wax everyone except the top 7-8 teams in DI.
The bottom line is that Lancaster has dominated this series in a lopsided way over a nearly 50-game history. Only some of the greatest teams in school history (1934-35, 2008-09) and a World War (1943 and 45) have seen Logan. (plus a couple wins in 1912 and 1921).
Logan can play and compete with plenty of teams the size of Lancaster's enrollment. Heck, we beat up on Pickerington North for almost a decade and they had a larger enrollment than Lancaster for about half that time.
But starting out 0-1 every year, and not really being competitive, is a waste of a game. It's time to find someone else who can provide competition, bring fans to our great stadium, but that Logan can at least compete with and hopefully beat 3-4-5 times out of 10 if not more.
