I completly agree with this post but when I say it everyone on here seems to think I am high on something,I still think NY will win 7 or 8 games.93Bulldog wrote:Seems like I'm the only one (of the circle of football fans I speak with) that thinks the Buckeyes are a good football team and will get better as the season progresses ... I saw some good things out of the orange & brown Saturday night ... don't discredit how good Trimble's defense is ... after watching Fed Hock, Alex, Athens, Gallia, NY, Trimble over the course of three days, I thought Alex Mount ran as hard (and fast) as any of the backs I seen all weekend - with the exception of Trae Williams, who is just lightning fast ... But for Mount, only a freshmen, to be asked to run head first as hard as he could into Jackob Koons all night was a lot to ask - but that young man responded ... 19 carries - 63 yards ... and let me just say those 63 yards were extremely hard to come by ... if he runs that hard, and shows the kind of 'burst' he showed after taking the handoff, versus other teams on the schedule like River Valley, Berne Union and some TVC-Ohio opponents - I guarantee that kid racks up 100-150 yards a game and the Bucks will win.
I think (7-3) is very possible so long as the Buckeyes don't get down on themselves, keep practicing hard, keep improving.
As far as leadership? Come on. Say what you want about Dave Boston jr., but there isn't a much better "leader", "motivator" in our area when it comes to high school football coaches ... you can get by without 'player-leaders' when you have a coach like that ...

I have read enuff of this garbage and have to respond. You criers are knocking on the best coach in this area. He has won more TVC Ohio football championships than any coach in history. Even more than the "PE teacher" all you Trimble people keep referring to. As far as I am concerned NY has never had a head football coach worth mentioning that is not named Dave Boston. Father and son. The two best in the area. Father got the program started, and son got it back where it was when his dad had it. Nuff said!

How many playoff wins has Ny had since Boston Jr. Has been coach?
Re: wk2 Nelsonville-York vs Newark Catholic (Sat)9/7
Back in the day (Boston Sr.) only 2 teams made the playoffs. How many of Mead's and Boston Jr's team were lower then the top 2? and wouldn't of made the playoffs if not for all of the changes from 2 to 4 and 4 to 8? Something else to think about!

I think Dave Boston Jr. does a great job as well ... Looking at the program from afar - I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Buckeyes!Ground Buck wrote:I have read enuff of this garbage and have to respond. I know other teams would kill for a 7-3 season, but around Nelsonville its a disappointment.
That's just ridicules.

I've seen plenty of teams have talent - and not achieve success.Sum_it_up89 wrote:Lets no forget about THE ATHLETES Boston has had which has ALOT more to do with then COACHING!!!! Sry 93Bulldogs but u KNOW its true
I respect the way NY plays football, the way they run their program, the way kids play extremely hard every Friday night ... that's all I'm saying.
X's and O's can be debated all day long ... some love the smash mouth style, others want to spread it out and try and throw the football ... but judging strictly on how the program is run - and the level of success they have year in and year out - a coach deserves a lot of credit for that, IMO.

The Trimble basketball team was loaded with ATHLETES - but they went (10-12) and lost to Miller in the sectional ... just because you have horses doesn't always mean you win the race ... they've had the horses at NY - and they have tons of league titles to show for it ... its been a combination of coaching, pride, tradition, community support and quality football players that made it happen.Sum_it_up89 wrote:Lets no forget about THE ATHLETES Boston has had which has ALOT more to do with then COACHING!!!! I seen this same kind of comment/debate over Trimble on the 1-yard line vs NC ... every team has questions over certain play calls and strategy.NY BUCKS wrote:First time NY played NC..NY out played them late 4th ..9-7 lead at NC 40..4th 1 NY runs spread shotgun..qb sneak..you punt the ball..stuff like this is what's happening
