Best or not I hate to see any kids season affected by an injury. Especially his senior year.

River scrimmaged a big, fast, & physical state ranked Richie County team last night. Big line gave the Pilots a little trouble inside at first but ended in 3-3 tie. Cadets defense better tighten their chinstraps because River has multiple threats on the field every snap.

Well Chandler Lang is going for his 4th straight yr with over 100 tackles and if he don't play if River has any speed they should be able to dominate the line and get to 2nd level. If River don't have a passing game coach Huck will load the box and make Rivers young QB beat them. I'm saying this will be low scoring.

Coach Huck saw Rivers passing game last night and it looked pretty darn good. River had some nice gains up the middle, on the edge, and through the air. If Lang doesn't play this may get ugly fast. River learned the hard way in '09 after the undefeated season that one player "Potts" doesn't make a whole team great.

That being said, this years team is far from great. But I think they are better than a lot of people are giving them credit for. Not as good as last years team but neither are most teams they are playing.

He got hurt in practice the 1st week of hitting not sure when he will get cleared.
Re: Hannibal River @ Fort Frye Week 1
Tell the truth Dspy,he didn't get hurt in practice. It's a coaches decision not to play him until the first game.

Re: Hannibal River @ Fort Frye Week 1
It seems to me like these teams are fairly close, but I picked River in the pick-em because: Whether Chandler plays or not, Fort Frye is a speed and timing team that played the entire pre-season with the focal point of their offense standing on the sidelines, and I've always been impressed with how solid The Pilots look right out of the gate. They never have a lot of their playbook opened up in week one, but they execute and take care of fundamentals. So, I'm just going with a well-coached team that had a slightly better pre-season.
