Re: Week 1 Wellston vs. Jackson
My son is the GM at Larosas and he gave me 2 Wellston Complimentary Athletic passes to give to one of my many SEOPS friends. First come- first serve. Anyone interested? They are for Wellston home games at the high school and middle school. I can bring them to and meet you at the Jackson/ Wellston game.

Re: Week 1 Wellston vs. Jackson
I feel as though Jackson's inexperience will not play that much of a part in this game, let alone the rest of the season. The core of their team is a talented group with superb athleticism from what I've seen the past two scrimmages. Does anyone know who their linemen are? If so, what are their abilities?

Re: Week 1 Wellston vs. Jackson
4 more days till the 100th meeting. Long practices for Ironmen and coaches are ramping up the intensity from what I understand, seems to have a little different feel than in years past. The kids I know and have asked are quietly determined and seem to be ready to show it on field. It will be fun watching this year since this is first time in a while I know some of the kids playing. Good luck to both teams and hopefully no injuries.

Im 1-20 the last 21 years picking this game. That said Wellston will win . I would pick anyone aganst jackson in the USA . The only way I would go with them is if they were playing a foreign country.
Re: Week 1 Wellston vs. Jackson
Doesn' t anyone want these free Wellston Athletic Passes ? I still have them to give out from Larosas.

Re: Week 1 Wellston vs. Jackson
I was thinking this was going to be a close game, but I am having second thoughts. I am going with Jackson 49, Wellston 7. After reading how Coach Hall is going to run the team this year, looks like the team is focusing on keeping the players less fatigued and fresh, especially on offense. Hope the defense in the secondary has their act together, this is the area I have concern with.

I'm getting so excited for Saturday. Get to watch a great game, listen to the two best bands in this part of the state, spend the evening with family and friends, and get to watch fireworks. :122245 also the passes have been spoken for. See you all Saturday. Go Red

Since Jackson handled Nelsonville- York with ease, Jackson will defeat the Rockets.

Its to early in the season to try to predict a score but I'll take Jackson to win in a comfortable fashion.
Re: Week 1 Wellston vs. Jackson
Judging from the information in the game preview, there will be a lot of young guys contributing for both teams. It'll be interesting to see which group of young players handles the hype and excitement of the rivalry game with the most poise.
Jackson is certainly undersized this season, but they have a lot of team speed, and I think they've worked hard this off-season to get stronger as well. I think they'll hold up fine against some of Wellston's bigger bodies, and their overall team speed will be a major advantage.
No surprise, but I'm taking the Ironmen to win Game #100 of the rivalry on Saturday night.

I have heard this Dutch is one heck of a motivator. If the game is at the "Arm Pit" Jackson is down 14 -0 before they step off the bus. If at Jackson the Ironmen roll.Wellston Ironman wrote:I've been told by a good source that Dutch has the boys ready to rock the Arm Pit this year. Of course every year the source says, "Dutch will have them ready." Therefore, Jackson 40 - the Dutchmen 6.

I'm a bit surprised that there hasn't been much chatter on this game, a few years ago this thread would have been 20 pages by now and with this being the 100th meeting I was expecting a little more "friendly" trash talk.

Neither the Red/White side nor the Blue/Gold side have any idea what to expect...therein lies the reason for the "quietness"...no one wants to go out on a limb and predict or run their mouth too much lol.A-Town Big Dog 2 wrote:I'm a bit surprised that there hasn't been much chatter on this game, a few years ago this thread would have been 20 pages by now and with this being the 100th meeting I was expecting a little more "friendly" trash talk.
