the higher ups , in between burg/ironton(people who have superior knowledge of both teams) have spoken and they established a vegas line of ironton -6 and a total of 35 1/2

Wasn't sure just how good this Eastmoor team was this year so I checked out the scrimmage they had against Bishop Hartley last week. Hartley also beat them but the guys from Hartley thought Eastmoor was better than the team they scrimmage from Zanesville. Either way neither team got into the endzone against Hartley. I would like to know the size of that offensive and defensive line of Eastmoor. Those guys were pretty good size lads. Should be a good game Friday night.

Paladino not playing changes Ironton's Offense greatly.
And this being a scrimmage you can't read to much into it.
Ironton will need to be on top of their game come Friday regardless.

Eastmoor had some fast kids. I doubt Ironton will see a faster team this year unless it's playoffs. The pass rush was getting pressure on the QB and the DB's did a great job on coverage. The offense looked good with Pallidino out. When he gets back it will be even better. This game vs Burg will be a tough one, but I see the Tigers winning by 14.

Ironton had a couple of people out of position still yet and they looked good. Won't say they looked oiled up, but the defense was looking nasty outside of a couple of plays and once Paladino suits up I believe that will take care of that. Offensively we did pretty good too with the exception of the one fumble and it being a scrimmage we only ran a handful of plays. I was happy to see our kicker keep nailing his PATs. All in all I think it was a great practice. No injuries. Burg week!! Football season is here!!

I don't do predictions anymore. cause we have no idea how a game will turn or turnout.
but I do have a feeling down deep that the fighting tigers take this first step successfully.
I ain't concerned with playoffs, titles, home field advantage. I want to see the fighting tigers be cocked and ready for the burg.sink that ship, then worry about the next one. it'll be a very good game I hope. I just think it will end up very close.

I agree with you tiger bait, every time i make a prediction it doesn't seem to pan out, should be a dandy, we have the tools so lets hope we can put it all together friday night. This will be the true test coming out of the gate, long trip for me coming from the canton area but those tigers are worth it. It's time TIGERS to roll, lets play Ironton smashmouth football and have a great season. GO TIGERS

Having seen both teams scrimmage, this is my guess on how they matchup. Both teams that ironton and burg scrimmaged were not good football teams. Eastmoore had more athletes, but that's about it. Burg didn't give up many yards and neither did ironton outside the big play.

Ironton widened their defense on the spread of eastmoore and it worked. It seems they are relying on their beef to contain inside. Burg will probably try to zone read the inside.
Ironton has a weapon in Carey. Kid is heading to d1 status. Fast, athletic, and tall. The QB ironton isn't fancy but he throws a nice ball. Ironton continues to run in power, nothing new there.

Burg looked sound most of the scrimmage. QB is elusive and throws it quick. Don't know if he has the deep ball, didn't see it. Burgs RBs are good and there is depth at that position. Recieving group is a mixed bag. They were throwing kids in and out . Defense is quick again, maybe not as big as last year, but still quick. Good tackling noticed but gallia ran the same play over and over.

Ironton Offense vs Burg D - (slight advantage burg). Ironton can mix it up better this year compared to last. Especially with Carey, but as the game goes on ironton has the tendency to slack on blocking assignments. Burg should take advantage and force a few punts

Burg O vs tiger D - ( push ) tigers more sound in their defense but a lot of two way players. Look for burg to use no huddle.

Special teams - (?) there were no live kicks so hard to judge

Intangibles-( slight edge ironton) at home, revenge, etc. by the mid third none of this will matter

I think burg wins but change it to a touchdown. 28-21

It may comedown to Ironton playing players both ways.
Wheelersburg may be a TD favorite.
But if Ironton can control the ball and the clock that will help greatly.
And Ironton is showing to have some speed on defense and that will be a big plus to.
Key I believe will be turnovers if Ironton can keep their turnovers down and keep their composure and emotions under control they may be nearly unbeatable.
Friday will be a big test and tell if this Ironton team is for real or just another paper Tiger in the wind.
