WK1 Valley @ Portsmouth
Re: Valley @ Portsmouth
How did Portsmouth look in their scrimmages? Who are the key players for them? Are they big up front? Do they have speed like usual? How did the defense tackle?
Re: Valley @ Portsmouth
At the previews, Portsmouth was very balanced on offense and appeared to be coached well in that area. Defensively they didn't look good at all. Obviously they weren't showing many packages but it was the non pursuit, poor tackling that was concerning. I think Portsmouth is on the way up but not this time. Valley 35- Portsmouth 21

I might just be able to get on up to Portsmouth and take this one it. It's always good to catch a game at the new stadium.
Re: Valley @ Portsmouth
Don't see Portsmouth winning this one. Just hoping to see some improvements under coach Duncan. Hoping to at least make it a competitive game & to see some tackles lol. Go Trojans!

Re: Valley @ Portsmouth
This game has been very close over the last few years will Valley taking all 3 matchups by a combined 22 points. It is hard to say how this one will go, but I expect a focused effort from the Indians. If Portsmouth hasn't improved tremendously from a tackling standpoint, I expect Valley to put up more than enough points to win this game. The Indians can score quickly and in bunches. They are balanced and physical.
Portsmouth seems to always have some kids that can score from anywhere so they are dangerous. I think Valley comes out and sets the tone early and pounds the running game in the 2nd half to pull away and win comfortably.

Most games start at 7 this year, but some are still 7:30. I know Burg has 2 games at 7:30 (Ironton and Jackson) and the other 8 are all at 7:00izladoom wrote:I think all games start at 7 this year

Either this game will get really ugly very quickly, or it will be tight until the 4th qtr. Either way, at some point, Valley will wear down Portsmouth in the trenches and win the season opener.
Re: WK1 Valley @ Portsmouth
Kinda surprised Portsmouth is not running the shotgun spread anymore and went to a pro style offense

Good luck Indians...Last year's accomplishments mean little...It's a new year with new team chemistry and dynamics...This senior class has been fortunate to be involved in arguably the best run in valley history....it's your year to leave your mark...
