WK1 Piketon vs. Waverly
Re: Week One / Piketon Versus Waverly
Piketon's defense looked good against East. there weren't any long runs given up that I remember. Got pressure on the quarterback. Offensively, it was hard to get into a rhythm until they played with the clock running.
Looking forward to a good, hard fought game Friday. I hope smurray plans on taking care of us boys in the booth, as I've heard good things about the food up north. Until game time, GO STREAKS!!!!

Re: Week One / Piketon Versus Waverly
Hope you didn't change the concession on the visitor side, they hade some good food. Congrats on the new facilities and good luck. Take the Tigers in this one.toast wrote:This game is scheduled for Friday, August 28 at 7:00. This will be the first football game played on Waverly's new turf field. As most people know last year our field was beyond terrible. We now have one of if not the nicest fields in Southern Ohio. The entire complex is beautiful! New lights, restrooms, stands, lockers, concessions, fencing, etc…. The difference a year can make And a BOE that values all facets of public education.
As for the teams maybe someone can enlighten us. Both lost some key players to graduation and both return a nice nucleus. Waverly defense did look good in their scrimmage against Miami Trace. Expect a big and enthusiastic crowd for this season opener.
Re: Week One / Piketon Versus Waverly
Visitor side concessions is still ran by the Band Boosters. Shouldn't be any change to it.
Great food can be obtained from the Athletic Boosters concession stand in the new field house as well. And there will be the mouth watering brats at the brat tent - a must!

Seen Piketon in a 7-7 and I know Waverly returns quite a bit from last year. I'll take Waverly by 2+ scores

The stars have aligned. Waverly vs Piketon…..first game of the season…… first game on the Tigers new Turf Field…….first game in our completely renovated sports facility……weather forecast is perfect for football……both teams appear healthy and are chomping at the bit.
I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being the largest crowd to ever watch a football game at Waverly. Can't wait for Friday!

Interesting that you think Piketon D not that good, but other posters predicting Waverly to score 49, win by 3 or more td's is ok? lol Waverly had to replace its entire backfield and 1 lineman so I dont know if Piketon D is that good, but I cant believe Waverly to be able to score at will on them either! lol Lets Go Streaks!smurray wrote:WOW PHS75, Piketon's D must be tough. Every year it seems the Tigers are going to pull it together but somehow they don't. Waverly by one TD.

Re: WK1 Piketon vs. Waverly
eagles73, I never said the Piketon D was good or bad, I don't have a clue how good or bad they are. I was just surprised with the 10 point prediction when a all I have heard from not just a Waverly folks but Piketon as well that the Piketon D wasn't that good. Those assessments may have been from their first scrimmage, I don't know. But again, I never said their D wasn't any good and never indicated Waverly will score at will.
GO TIGERS!
GO TIGERS!

Man, it is quiet on the eve of this big game.
Girls soccer in their first ever home debut on the brand new turf knock off defending league champion Minford 1-0. Boys are playing Circleville now.
