Minford @ South Point week one
Re: Minford @ South Point week one
I dont think South Point has much this year.
Minford 42
SP 7
Should be a good warm up game for the Falcons

Pointers will be close the first half. Minford will pull away in the 2nd.

Don't see Minford scoring 42 in this one. A close game I hope 28 - 21 either way.

Except for a few dropped wide open TD passes and red zone penalties, MInford's offense looked pretty good against Fairland. Defense played lights out. Kicking game looked good. So, I don't know if Fairland was that bad or if MInford played that good, or a little bit of both.
I did hear that South Point beat Ironton in the Lawrence county preview by a TD. This matchup could be a good game.

South Point will make it closer than most people expect, however Minford still wins by AT LEAST 2 scores. 35-21.

Minford wins, but it sounds as if SEO might be surprised by what South point can bring to the table this year.....

Minford picked up a 49-19 opening season win on the road at South Point. Take away a long kickoff return for the Pointers and some yellow flags away and it wouldn't even be that close. All around great defense by the Falcons (minus a couple big pass plays by South Point leading to two TD's) coupled with some devastating hits on the field, left me and the Falcon faithful pleased.
Next up, at Oak Hill, who received a sour taste of football last night by the Chesapeake Panthers. Is Oak Hill that bad, or Panthers that good. We shall see.

I don't know the answer to your last question but I'd say the oaks are in for a long night..

Nice job last night by the Falcons. I was told some very encouraging things about the offense and defense.
Although Oak Hill took a beating to Chesapeake last night, this is still a rivalry game for Minford, so needless to say, the focus should be on the Oaks this-coming week.
I also wanna say that whoever posts updates to the Falconwire on Facebook does an awesome job.

Good job falcons. Thought south point would give a little more in this one offensively but after seeing them play d, I figured minford would score at will.

. Let's not forget a punt blocked that lead to a TD too!mglight88 wrote:Minford picked up a 49-19 opening season win on the road at South Point.
