Really wasn't a jamboree game I don't think lol, more of what I would call a scrimmage. Game clock or scoreboard was never on tonight.

Each team ran a 10-play series; couple down and distance series; and what I think was a 2-minute drill for each team. Both teams scored, a score was called back on one drive, and a lot of flags/penalties called.

NY was a handful, they are a good team, looks like they will compete in TVC Ohio very well this year, be a great Week 10 game for sure. Jackson still trying to find a line-up on defensive line it looks like, and a lot of different backs on offense got reps (look for JV player tonight Caleb Storms) to get some carries on Friday nights.

NY QB broke contain a number of times and Jackson struggled with that, lot of yards gained on broken plays or plays he just made on his own.

Jackson looked a little gassed on the 2-minute (I think that is what it was) on defense, which was a little surprising, only a week left till Wellston. Wellston QB will have a lot of the characteristics we saw tonight with respect to what he can do with his feet.

Overall a pretty hard hitting scrimmage and a good one for each team before Week 1; no injuries that I noticed other than Jackson had their two defensive backs in street clothes tonight with some dings but will play I am certain next Saturday.

NY didn't block very well, and they didn't tackle very well at times. The offense did well in the hurry up, Jackson seemed to struggle with that pace of play.

I enjoyed watching Jackson's QB. He's a big kid and he can move well.
Lots of flags lol.....
The officials had a hard to spotting the ball. They marked it short most of the night for both teams.

Always a pleasure to play nelsonville and to come to Boston Field. The place oozes with tradition. Nelsonville-York is a standup hard nosed program and always a good team to bang heads with before the season starts. I think both teams can do some things and should have pretty good seasons. Expectations are always high with these two schools. To get to where these schools expect to be you have to have a little luck and stay healthy. Again , thanks for a good hard hitting game and taking care of the teams. Good luck in 2015 Buckeyes! You have respect from the Jackson faithful.

What great place to play some football at Boston field to bad the Ironmen and Bucks cant strap it up for real what a Friday night atmosphere that would be. Preseason football only gives you a sample of what a real game would be and last nights sample would have turned into a slobber knocker of a game. I believe both teams showed a little of the talent they have for a preseason game and the hitting was what we would expect from these programs. Both teams walked away with parts of there ego's bruise but with good experience and spots to fine tune and a chance for these two programs to look back later this season and realize that this was two pretty good football teams trying to knock the rust off and settle in for a good season. Good luck to both teams
