Alright, ladies and gentlemen, it's football season and that means it's time for the Pick 'Em contest.
Ordinary rules from other Pick 'Ems apply:

As always, picks for each week should be posted no later than 6 PM on Friday of the given week. Anything posted after that (even if it's a minute late) WILL NOT COUNT. Also, as always, if you miss a week, you're done. ****For Week #1, all picks must be in by 6 pm on Thursday due to Valley/Portsmouth being on Thursday. This will be the only day that you will have to have your picks in this early. Had I known before I'd made the schedule that this game was on Thursday, I'd have left it off!****

For Week 1: I said on my other post that I would only be grading 100 participants, but for Week #1, I'm taking as many as want to play. After Week #5, I'm cutting it down to the Top 100 players (and tiebreakers), so every week will be important in the first half of the season - choose your picks wisely, my friends.

The top 32 players (and ties) will qualify for the playoffs, with the winner of the regular season receiving a prize. In the playoffs, everyone will start out 0-0 and we'll have our own little pool with tie-breakers. The postseason champ will also receive a prize, of course.

A lot of times, one of the biggest problems I've noticed is that people who have a bad week or two here and there aren't able to recover. That's why I'm making bonus games more important. Read carefully:

I'll be selecting 25 games each week. The first 20 will count for 1 point apiece, no matter how many you get right.
There will also be 5 "bonus" games that I select. You can pick as many of them as you want (or none at all). If you get these ALL CORRECT, you earn bonus points, depending on how many you pick. If you miss one, you get no bonus points and no points for the other bonus games you got correct.

Here's the formula:

Pick 1 Correct: 1 point + 1 = 2 points

Pick 2 Correct: 2 points + 2 = 4 points

Pick 3 Correct: 3 points + 3 = 6 points

Pick 4 Correct: 4 points + 4 = 8 points

Pick 5 Correct: 5 points + 5 = 10 points

Again, pick as many as you want in the bonus round, but if you miss one, you get nothing, nada, the big goose egg for your bonus picks. This is designed (a) as a way to cut down on ties, and (b) as a way to give people a chance to make up ground. These games will hopefully be tougher than the rest, and that means that I will often go out of area to find them. MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU POST YOUR BONUS PICKS, YOU POST ONLY THE BONUS GAMES YOU'RE ATTEMPTING AND ERASE THE OTHERS! IF YOU DON'T ERASE THE GAMES YOU DIDN'T PICK, I'LL MARK THEM AS MISSES AND YOU WON'T GET YOUR BONUS.
