Go watch the state finals, lots of teams who make it are still running the same old plays. Marion Local does nothing special, neither does Coldwater. Hilliard Davidson won two D1 state titles running 4 different offensive plays all night. Marion Franklin and Thurgood handled Athens in the playoffs running about six or eight different simple offensive plays.

The problem I saw Friday versus LC was there seemed to be no passion, no intensity out of the Buckeyes. This to me is a players problem. A coach can scream, yell, preach, talk and do whatever else to pump his team up for a game - but if they don't take it out onto the field - then that's on them.

Trust me it's a coaching staff problem. The kids play hard and do the best they can with what the coaches give them. Replace Boston and bring in a new guy with fresh ideas and with this team and watch the difference.

I have heard the same things. Alot of the kids have lost the desire. Also the coaches dont put in the time in the offseason from what i hear. This is a dead horse you are beating though. No changes will be made. There are alot more issues besides play calling. Have been alot of really good assistant coaches come and go .

Anything besides what happens on the field, I know nothing about, so commenting on would be just plain stupid on my part.

Just don't get caught up into believing the game plan, or offensive strategy, is the root of any problems. Liberty Center had a far simpler offense than NY; they ran basic plays I use to run in pee wee football and they won the game by 3 TD's. I don't care how talented your backfield is (on any team) or how great your receivers are - if you get beat in the trenches - odds are you are going to lose.

Maybe the recent success of Trimble has something to do with the changes at NY...

The only effect Trimble has had on NY is to keep us from being prepared for the tough schedule we play after the wee cats game. Trimble is a step down in competition most every year from what we face later in the year, so it hurts us in that way.

It's not Trimbles job to prepare you for the rest of your "tough schedule" it is your players and coaches job to be prepared to play the entire schedule. Must be that you just don't have the necessary players and coaches to be successful anymore.Stop blaming Trimble for your teams failures.

Okay state champ, thanks for the advice. I saw where the wee cats put an azz whippin on your Eagles so apparently you are still bowing to them. Has your team ever scored on them? And thanks for the playoff points BTW.

Maybe I was saying that NY didn't have a lock on getting the best kids to come to YorkieTown since there were chances to have success at Trimble...

By the same token, the recent success at Athens HS probably pulls fringe players down to The Plains. After all, Athens and Trimble have both gone WAAAAAY deep in the playoffs lately. Somebody had to be the loser in that equation because Athens County only has a finite number of football players.

Apparently getting players that would never see the field at NY was not enough for the wee cats this year.

I hope they don't. The wee cats didn't and you saw what happened in that game. Keep those playoff points coming wee cats cause we really need them now.

FEAR the 3
Sorry! I cant see The Monster making the playoffs at 5-5 maybe 6-4. If they do I can promise if the monster has any heads left they will be taken off!

^^^^ But would their presences have made a difference in the two NY losses or in the practices leading up to those two losses?

I guess we'll see. If not, we can all go to Caldwell and watch the wee cats get their azzes handed to them.

No. Couldn't even make the practice squad. Keep jibbing though, cause another beat down decade is upon us. I can see another 8 or 9 in a row.

I think NY wins this one.
However if the Bucks don't play with more passion and the playbook isn't opened up some,
they will be lucky to go 5-5 or 6-4.
Logan and Meigs are good teams and who knows how good Alex and Athens will be at the end of the season.

At least we can admit when a team is good enough to beat us and we don't have to blame other teams for us losing games to everybody else on our schedule.Instead of referring to the Tomcats as wee cats you might want to refer to your team as the Buchtel worthless nuts.Better fitting name.
